Right update on the beast.

Its still going strong, no problems or modifications which is why this thread has been quiet for nearly a year.

4 Toyo PX4's are on the way for it now so for the first time in over a year its going to have four matching tyres on it :)

And they are here, Kent to Derbyshire in 12 hours and for £30 per tyre no carriage!!

Toyo Proxes PX4's!! Is it wrong that i am stupidly excited and even slightly aroused at the prospect of four such hot looking tyres being on the motor?!

Tyres went on this afternoon, not bedded in yet but the car already feels more sure footed and hard acceleration wheelspin in the dry has been eliminated.

Its also being more economical, town traffic coming home and its done 42mpg.

All in all chuffed to bits PX4's recomended

Theyre still bedding in, cars alot more composed on the road, but doesn't feel like all the grips available yet. Certainly not up with the T1R's i had a few years back.

Having a few niggles with her at the moment so not really given them the good running in they require. Most of the dash, and passenger side interior is missing!

Its amazing what little things you find to fix when your bored!

Update, rattles are gone!! Tracked one down to the passenger side window mech and the other was the dreaded pedal box. Tightened up the mech and given it a good greasing and then tightened up the pedal box and reinforced it some more.

Discovered the middle part of the exhaust is nearly shot while it was on the ramps, I can't decide whether to replace it with a genuine one or get a custom stainless made up. If its custom stainless I don't want it to be any louder than the standard one really so decisions decisions.

Spent a lot of time under the car cleaning it, repairing any paint damage with anit rust and white hammerite, then wayoyling it too. It'll rot away over my dead body this one!

The rear bumper needs sanding down and repainting and I'd like to do the alloys again but any cosmetics are going to have to wait until she's passed her MOT next month. If its a small bill i'll do the cosmetics, if not they'll have to wait.

I'm also thinking about my next daily car, the GTi's staying as I love it and it'll be a classic some day but i need something diesel to abuse. Can't decide whether to buy a MK2 Ibiza/Cordy TDI outright or add a bit of a loan to my cash and get something a bit newer like a MK4 Ibiza/Cordy.

Just read through this thread, as I'm trying to brush up on a lot of Mk2 Ibiza Readers rides... this is a beautiful example mate!! Very well kept by you, I'm sure you're proud! Looks more or less new! :)

I think when the time comes sooon, I'll end buying an 8v too, there are still so many beautiful examples left! :)

Thanks Fella

Its in pretty good condition, cleaned it over for Inters tonight and theres only a few real niggles i have:

*Cracked surround on passenger door handle
*One of the hinges on the drivers glovebox is weak
*Both bumpers could use a blow over as the paint is cracked, and i can then rid it of the parking sensors.

Two are a cheap 5 minute fix and the paints not noticeable unless your on top of it so all in all its pretty good.

Seems to be more decent 8v's around than 16v's probably due to the price difference when new and that most of the 16v's were bought by loonies and stuffed up trees.
