And then... Get rid of that god ugly spoiler. The paint isn't as good as it looks in the pics but hey it was all done with rattle cans from Halfrauds so I think I did good :)

Looks great I think

All the bits to do the 5 stud conversion are now sat in a box ready. Just need the time to do it, and some tyres on the wheels. Front is gonna be a tight squeeze but I recon they'll be fine if the arches are rolled.

The spoiler was bolted on, so I've filled the holes with some P40. It's not perfect but it's only a temp measure until I get the other boot lid done properly when the car has a full respray.

The engine bay was cleaned with CD1 degreaser and CD2 treatment. Apparently you can't buy it any more but I had the tins in the shed.

I am looking for a Mk3 boot, then smooth the lock off it. But it's the spoiler and boot lock that really needs to go.

Mk3 front end is still going on yeah. Going to get the car MOT'd in september ( as soon as it's under a month until it needs it, and then it'll go into the bodyshop :)

I tried to paint over the plug lead cover I had but the paint reacted with the paint underneath. And I've got nothing that will strip the paint off without eating the plastic. :(

I'm hoping I can get the car to E38 this year on the TT Comp wheels and coilovers. But time isn't on my side with that right now due to the work involved.

I want the car in as complete a form as possible at Donny in April... Loads of work to do before then...

Well yesterday was a bit of a let down. Went out in the morning and got some Toyos fitted to the wheels. Matt came over when I got back and we set to work swapping the rear brake discs over so the wheels could be fit.

We got the car on stands and started on the passenger side. Figured out how to get all the bits off and we decided to fit the coilovers at the same time.

Got the passenger side striped off, then worked out how to get the bearings into the new discs as well. Then the problems started

Top bolts on the drivers side topmount wouldn't undo, so had to drill the top of that away throguh the bolt until it came off. Got that done, and the new struts both bolted in. We set them both at an aproximate level so they matched but wouldn't know how low it would be until we got it back on the ground.

So on with the brakes. Matt started work on the drivers side to get the caliper and carier bolts off while I started on the passenger side.

That's when the real trouble started. Only had a pair of pliers to wind the piston in and I slipped and caught the dust seal, so now that caliper needs refurbing  We managed to break 3 8mm alley keys trying to undo the carrier bolts and they're still stuck fast.

So I only have 1 of the wheels on, a knackered caliper, and a welded on carrier on the other side.

Looks damn good though with the TT's on. The drop is a bit too much, needs raising slightly I think but I'm liking the wheels on the Cordy :D

Once I have all 4 corners done I'll take a look at the ride hieght. Just tried the drivers side again and the carrier bolts are still stuck fast even after 24hours of soaking, and I don't think there's much bite left on the allen head now

Well the back was supposed to be easy as it just needs a disc change. The front needs Golf VR6 hubs fitting.
