Reverse Cam 12V

Hi all,

I have given myself a project of installing a reversing cam on my Ibiza 2016 (3 door) but I am running into an issue. When I put the car into reverse with the electrics on it works fine and the feed shows up. However, if I turn the engine on, the feed stops working. I've read somewhere that this is due to the voltage dropping to 9V when the engine is running (CAN BUS?) and if I install a relay it will stop this problem. The tutorials that I've found to install the relay say that I need a constant 12V+, however I cant seem to find one in my boot? I don't have a cigerette lighter in my boot.

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

From what I can see a 12v relay has the potential to work with a 9.6v source however I have not tested this and am not an electrician so am not 100% certain of this.

The nominal voltage of a 12V relay is 12V, so 80% of this is 12 x 0.8 = 9.6V. So in theory, this relay should activate at 9.6V
