Seat Ibiza's Wi-Fi won't turn on (2022 version with the newest facelift)

Hello,

A few months ago I purchased an Ibiza MK6 (Newest model with the facelift from 2022) and ever since I got it, I have this issue where the Wi-Fi is ocasionally turned off when I enter the car, and the only way to get it working again is by restarting the Infotainment system by holding the left button for 10-15 seconds. And even then, sometimes I need to do this 2 or 3 times since there's like a 50% chance that the Wi-Fi won't turn on.

When it doesn't turn on, the Wi-Fi button shows up as white instead of orange, which in a normal scenario would mean it is just turned off and you could just tap once to turn it on, but this is not the case as it simply won't turn on no matter how many times I press it. Bluetooth works as intended and I can turn it off and on at will by tapping its button on the top right corner. I've spent weeks messing around with the settings but the only thing that actually works is either restarting the system a few times and hoping it turns on as mentioned above or connecting the cable to my phone and use it wired instead to avoid the hassle. As you can imagine, this is not a sustainable solution for a new car.

I want to add that WHEN the Wi-Fi turns on, it works perfectly. The issue is getting it to turn on initially.

I have googled this and I'm unable to find any other users having the exact same issue. I was wondering if this is happening with others on a similar car with the same Infotainment system and if you've managed to find a solution.

I've tried using a different phone from a different brand. Same thing keeps happening. I've tried restoring the factory settings. Didn't work. I also checked for software updates but since I got the car, none have showed up for me even though I'm registered in SEAT CONNECT. When I go into "software update", it says it's already up to date. Current version is 1761.

Could it be that the Wi-Fi module came defective? If this was the case, is this something that can easily be replaced by the dealership? Looking for opinions on this matter.

Thank you in advance.

In my opinion don´t mess around with it, you have warranty so go to the dealer to fix it.
Followed your suggestion and left the car at the dealership. They called me the day after and said they updated the software and did a reset. When I got to the car, I realized they did absolutely nothing. I had a before picture of the software version, it is exactly the same. They didn't even do a reset since all my settings were still there. The problem is still there. Do I just go back to the dealership and wreck havoc for being scumbags or would you suggest a different approach?

Thanks for letting me know.

I'm still having these issues as I mentioned above.

I went to the car today but no updates were available. Are you sure a new version is out and is compatible with my model? After driving for about 30 minutes with my phone connected, no notification showed up and when I go into system updates, no updates are available.

Needs to be installed manually

Most of the big updates are not available OTA. You need to contact the dealer again. May be call another dealer in your country first before going back to the local one. Some dealers are better than others!

Thanks for letting me know. I will try to call a different dealership and get this firmware installed to see if there are any improvements.

Are you able to tell me if the settings get reset after an update? Settings like sound EQ, driving profiles, etc. Is it like updating a phone or does it get wiped entirely every time?

Perfect. Thank you once again.

I will keep this post updated. Might take a few weeks to get an appointment but I will let you know whether this update helped with the Wi-Fi issues.

Just want to give an update on this. The problem still occurs, and I've been fighting with the local dealerships since they refuse to update the car. They say they only do updates when SEAT themselves make the request for the vehicle to be updated. I've called many different dealerships and every single one gives a different answer, but the outcome is the same regardless. Very disappointing as with some other brands, you can do the update yourself via internet or through USB. I really like the car but this situation shouldn't be so hard to handle and is taking way too much time to get addressed.

After months, I'm still having the same issue. I just got used to connecting the cable when the Wi-Fi doesn't turn on with the car. My dealership doesn't do anything useful besides resets. It's very sad since Android Auto actually works very well wirelessly when the car actually decides to allow the Wi-Fi to turn on.

Get a usb-c stick and windows computer.

Download this, unzip it and copy the two folders to the root of the usb stick
