Hi,

Just removing the rear lettering of my car now, and have searched for the best thing to remove the residue left over from taking the letters off (from the actual bodywork).

Most people have said to use white spirit, but wont this damage the paint in anyway ?

Are there any "safe" options ?

Thanks

i used dental-floss to remove the letters, then literally a smidgen of polish and elbow grease for the rest.
Job done in less than 10mins.

This is hwo i removed the letters.
Using a string, i sliced the letters off, leaving only the sicky side.

Using somesoap and warm water with some fingers remove as much as you can.

Then using t -cut, (same colour has your car). rub it in and polish off!

May take some time but a good way without damaging the paint work.!

Excellent !

Used hot water and a cloth & a lot of elbow grease, came off quite sharpish. Just polished the rest out now :)

Time for measuring where I'm going to put the letters now!

Cheers guys

T Cut is used for removing small shallow scratches.

I think it does this by removing the top layer of paint?

All done :)

Made up my own template in the end - think it looks an improvement over standard.

Left the TDI badge on too so people will know that they were smoked by a diesel lol

take the tdi badge off chris, they'll know they're battling a diesel by the filthy cloud of poison smoke that poors out the back

i used dental floss then white spirit, white spirit is ok if you make sure you have water on hand to wash it straight off
