SEAT and CUPRA’s Head of Design is leaving for Renault

After just under 10 years with SEAT and CUPRA - Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos has left SEAT for Renault.

After just under 10 years with SEAT and CUPRA Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos has left the company according to Automotive News Europe.

It would appear he has been drawn back to his previous employer Renault by SEAT’s ex CEO and President Luca de Meo.

Alejandro has been responsible for the design of the Tarraco, Arona, new Ibiza and the new Leon.

We wouldn’t complain if SEAT’s last design director Luc Donckerwolke (ex Lambo designer), responsible for the Ibiza Bocanegra and main influence of the MK3 Leon was to come back.

No official statement from SEAT or CUPRA yet. More information when we have it.
