My runs were made in July/August in 30+degrees. I guess heat doesn't affect the NA engines as much? any ideas what I should be getting on the 1/4 mile with the lower temperatures? I guess theres only one way to find out.

better do it before I fit the cage though.

on the first run i don't know how heavy the car was. just the back seats out, but after that i ran the car nearly completely stripped everywhere. i had it weighed at 870kgs and it was 157bhp.

so 1/4 mile isnt really an accurate representation of how quick a cupra is then? 60ft times don't seem that good. only reason i am confused is because there is a point on a dual carriageway, and when my 106 was cammed and running 157bhp. i could hit 94mph by this marker, tried it in my cupra last night and i hit 101mph. now the oly mods i know of are a full scorpion system. i only picked the car up yesterday! it seems to pull alot harder over 90mph than my 106 did, but at these speeds, it's more than 1/4 mile really if you see what i'm saying?! hence why the actual 1/4 mile time might be slower, but once over 1/4 mile the cupra would catch and pass.

all about the torque mate!!:funk:

that's what i was thinking, my 106 had only 120lbs/ft!!!

on paper my 106 was quicker over the 1/4 mile than a revo'd ibiza. but i know on the road from a 40mph roll on, a revo'd beezer would have killed me probably!

it is gonna pull alot harder than the 106, mainly cos although yours had 157bhp...it prob only had 130lb/ft torque max where as the cupra standard has 160.

1/4 miles are hard to decipher because they are relative to the driver...how much do you weigh for example? im 16 stone of pure brunt. i have average reation times, particular the day after a visit to the pub, also i only got 3 runs the other day, and even with the car misfiring, i still reckon i could have bettered my times looking at the time slips.

on the road you'd see the difference alot more clear, more so from a road start than off the line where a 106 is probably much more balanced with its power than a turbo charged skip on wheels

its good for bragging rights and not much else really, bit like rolling roads

thats not to say mind that your 14.6 wasnt a f*ckin miracle mind

i remember arguments between 106 owners about 106GTis being able to break into the 14s with minimal mods etc. one guy i remember turbo charged his banana 106, 1600 16v, running something like 230bhp and still only got into 13.9s

and yours was pretty well modded, stripped out etc

a revo ibiza, with a decent driver and the right conditions should be able to match your 106s best time with no stripping of weight and no other mods,

i know, some of the 106's were shocking! mine was cammed and properly mapped though. i used to kill ibizas in my 106 but now i've got one, i can't help but think they just weren't being driven properly. my old 106 @ 157bhp would have pulled on a standard ibiza to about 80mph i think then it would have levelled out and the ibiza passed. although i did have 135mph out of the ibiza last night with 4 people in my car :D still had plenty left aswell.

 If any peugeot did - I'd sell my car!

my friend has just sold his 233bhp stripped supercharged Mi16! that was pretty fast! seriosuly though; i know on paper there fairly evenly matched, but honestly. a standard 106 gti/Saxo VTS against a standard ibiza. i would put my money on the ibiza having driven both.

lol :D i've noticed. my 106 handled amazingly. not much could get near it. the ibiza is interesting to say the least! hence why i'm getting eibach 35mm springs and bilstein dampers fitted on sunday, providing i can find where the locking wheel nuts are kept

i had a go with a 205 mi16 when my ibiza was standard, he told me before hand (at apeugeot meet) that the mi lump comes on power higher up the range than the old 1.9 8v

as we went down the slip onto the m4 i left him , he caught me up at a tonne and started overtaking where i braked for a car infront. revo'd id have had him no problems..so mi16s in tiny 205s not that impressive :p

I've seen a 106 gti get mid 14's. Mind you it was running 145+bhp.

My best 60ft time was 2.2?? most of the time 2.3 unless i screw up. The diff and slicks will sort that out though:D

my best time was 2.293 and that was with virtually a perfect start so dont think below 2.2 is possible really!

My average 60ft time is 2.4/2.5.

The S3's on sunday at Crail were doing 60FT's of 1.9/2.0. One ran a 13.9 and the other a 14.7.

I raced the slower of the two, he got a much better launch, but i reeled him in through the gears and was passing him as we crossed the line. I assume it was just standard, and the quicker one was remapped.
