I have a couple of things that are worrying me.....

Firstly when I am crusing at about 30/40 mph in 4th gear my engine note sounds very "put put put" (if you know what I mean) - sounds like an RS Turbo on idle! - Any ideas?

Also my coil packs seem to be alive, I can push them into the engine and after about 4mins they rise! I am sure it's just the heat on the plastic.....anyone else have this?

Also, will VAG COM tell me if my MAF or coil packs are fooked? What are the tell tale signs of busted coilpacks?

Thanks for the advice in advance!;)

hi mate

vag com will tell you if coil packs are gone will show up as miss fires on which ever cylinder i think.

when mine went sounded like a scooby as was only firing on 3 cylinders and engine management light was on.

my coil packs have also been raising i just took em out give the rubbers abit of a clean as seems well now not popping up

Bill gave me an excellent tip for the coilpacks popping out; ;)

Its caused by the air underneath them heating up and expanding, so all you have to do is cut a little 'V' into the rubber fins to allow the air to escape. Works a treat, solves the problem instantly/permanently. :)

Mine also started after changing plugs, something to do with replacing coilpacks when engine is cold. If we'd replaced them while the engine was hot they shoulnt have raised up.
