Which Of These Alloys?

Hi guys would like some opinions of which of these two alloy wheels would look better on my 03 black LC,have been looking for a while and think i've narrowed it down to these two.They are both 18" x 8J.

Number 1 out of that choice. Number 2 is nice, but just looks like a black and chrome version of what every bugger with a VAG car has been running for years... not too original really.

I know the first alloy isn't exactly new either, but it's a classier looking wheel and is seen less often on VAG cars in my experience. Plus, I just prefer the look

I was tempted by the inovit dtm`s myself , but I went for a gunmetal alloy instead.It`s a nice looking wheel though

Only problem is that I seriously doubt they'll clear the Brembo's on the LCR

I like the style of the first ones, but they are a bit weird. Kei Racing Kruze's are very similar but much nicer IMHO...

Don't buy any wheels with a polished Aluminium Rim cos they rot! Seriously I'm on my second set of Dare Supermesh and the rims look naff! After less than a year! I even had one sat in a shed not coming into contact with any roads and that went the same way over time! Dare do a Supermesh with a stainless steal rim but this is only available on the 17" wheels and not the 18" wheels which mine are, which is ridiculous.

So unless you are prepared so clean and seal your rims on a daily basis then go for a wheel with a painted finish or a stainless steal rim!

thanks for the comments so far guys,fidge it would be a steel rim i went for anyway mate as the aly ones are just too easily marked and are so hard to keep a good shine on

Thanks mate! Didn't see you I dont think!? They look ok from a distance but they are really naff up close! Going to get them refurbed soon! Next time you see me flash me down and I'll stop so you can have a look, they look diseased or something!

I would go one step further and suggest you avoid anything with a polished rim be it steel OR aluminium as neither is particularly corrosion or stone chip resistant. That's one of the reasons i got rid of the TSW Volcanos i had - after 2 months of careful use and weekly cleaning they were beginning to show signs of age!

Wear, corrode, tarnish or stone chip - none of those are good things to have .... i won't buy anything with a polished lip of any kind ever again.
