Picked up my new FR TDi yesterday and am loving it:funk:.No rattles, squeeks or wind noise and all electrics seem fine:p
While I was fitting a set of mudflaps to it this morning I was a bit :censored: to notice what looks like a flaw in the paint on the o/s/f wing under the tdi badge[:@].What makes it worse is that it also looks like an attempt has been made to hide this buy using a cutting compound which has left several deep scratches[:@][:@][:@]
Took the car back to the dealers and was told it would need to be inspected by their service department who at that time were closed. Will take it back on Monday and see what they have to say. Will also be complaining about their valeters skills as half the polish used is still on the car and the inside aint seen a hoover since it left the factory:-o.
Anyone else had issues with poor paint aplication?

I recieved mine on thursday (fr tdi) and its got a dented sill and scratched wheel from being loaded onto the delivery truck.....pssssdddd is an understatement after waiting 2 months for it.

What kind of flaw??, Which colour do you have??, The only thing on mine was a small piece of lacquer flake off the edge of the bonnet i touched it up myself as i thought a garage would remove the bonnet sand and repaint in a different shade of luna grey....

when I took delivery of my mk4 ibiza fr in ovni yellow I found a run in the paint on the front bumper

took it back, they got a paint technician in on the day I brought it in and "she" polished it out as it was just a run in the clear top coat

very impressed with the service from Meadens of Sway Seat dealer :)

Gaz, you didnt get your car from a dealer in manchester did you because the guy who valletetd mine did a crap job and scrathed my dash and steering wheel, and the body shop couldnt even fit ny aero kit properly!

No the car came from a dealer in the south, the area affected is about a 3" square just under the tdi badge on the o/s/f wing. The paint has a mottled look to it almost like its just had one coat applied and the primer is showing through.Colour is Zenith grey, also noticed a mark around the filler flap when I filled up earlier also.

I had similar on my mkI cupra in arctic grey. Turned out to be where they put the polystyrene blocks for transport had been put on before lacquer had dried properly.

Garage got a hot air gun onto marked areas and they disapeared. Might be the same if it looks darker than actual paint.....

hi gaz

i picked my 07 cupra up end of march, and i too was very very angry to find a paint defect on the off side front wing, once again had to wait for an inspector to look @ the car and got sorted straight away.lucky meeee!!!!!!!

or not so cus the dealer has made a rubbish repair and am still not happy im still backwards & forwards to them with the hope to getting a satisfactory resolve ,cus im still not happy bunny (dealer : coupers of st albans) ,but stick with it and dont get flobbed off, !!!!

Hope you have better luck than me, my paint flaws will not be rectified unless i pay for the work because they cant be seen 1 metre away !!!!
Rant over:censored:

The garage are trying to wriggle out of the blame for giving you a faulty car by saying they could not see the defect stick to youre guns and get them to mend it......

This 1 metre thing is bloody stupid, but they seem adament that if i want the bits done then i would need to pay for the repair and paintwork that the workshop do.
and yes to the other question, it is a brandnew LEON 2 stylance Luna Grey.
Sorry i seem to have stole the thread here, i do apoligise:whistle:

Think youselfs lucky. This is what happened to me. Bought a 6 month old Vauxhall vxt220 with some very minor bubbles in paint on rear clam. These could only just be seen, but they where pointed out by the sales team and assured it would fixed under warranty and had it in writting. Fine. Took the car to the local dealer who booked it in. After 14 days or so was told the work had to be undertaken by Lotus. The car was away for, wait for it ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------10 weeks. No compensation :-o as the car I was given as a loan car was a better spec than was normally allowed. The colour was wrong and didnt match . By then I thinking shall I jump of the Tamer bridge as Vauxhalll was not going to anything. Tried at the highest level. Six months later heavy frost and quess what more bubbles. Vauxhall bought the car back but still lost a hugh amount of money.
DO NOT EVER BUY A VAUXHALL.
ps The guy in the local vauxhall dealership was a fantastic chap with all things that need to be sortrd but its the head office who have the final say. Shame about customer care. I dont think its in the head offices dictionary.

I agree Ive just left Vauxhall lost loads on my new astra but worth it to get the leon the astra was wearing me down loads of faults.....

I'm taking my car in on Saturday to be inspected for a waranty claim, better not try to fob me off with any 1 metre rule, lucky to work in the trade so will be demanding a full repair.

Have to let me know how you get on, will be interesting to see if it is only the maindealer i got my car from or whether it is a new SEAT rule just been slipped in with this 1 metre crap.
Good luck with it though, these things shouldnt happen when you part with your cash on a new car.[:@]

Car is going into the dealers again on Saturday to have another blemish, this time spotted in the roof by my dad checked out.At this rate they might as well just respray the whole car and have done with it.
