matt.
your wastegate actuator... remember when the mani heats up its going to move in all directions.. stainless expands a lot, especially when you run them that hot like on manifold installations.

What psi does your actuator open at? (starts to move.)

im liking that! shame you cant see the mani once its it but hey, you know its there

like bill said you may have probs with heat expantion. the turbo will be moved about thru heat and the actuator is on a fixed point so it may cause probs!? idealy it wants to be mounted on your turbo! no way of making a bracket?

worth a thought!

look well matt hope i dont have these issues in mine for space etc how does the mani fit any probs??

so its just tight on the dp side now?? was the mani backdraft??

how much room you have in general or is it all silly tight??

The manifold is a JBS custom jobbie. It fits perfectly, can get to all the nuts :D
Only the ABS pump getting in the way which is a fairly straight forward fix.

The backdraft mani is no good for MK3 ibiza

Looking good, like the manifold!! Can't wait to see how this turns out, lets just hope it doesnt get mapped lean :( lol.

Will have to come to a crail day ot TOTB when you've got it on the road to see it!

Yeah the actuator bracket isn't a worry at the moment. I have a very skilled engineer coming on sunday to do my DP, that kind of thing is beyond me, i know my limits.

The manifold is fine for a Leon Moff. If it fits in the Ibiza there wont be a problem in yours.

So with a bit of luck it could be running on the weekend.

Plans are to get my self into TOTB next year, as there wasn't a single seat there yesterday, but the FWD class was won by a 400BHP 1.8T MK2 golf.

Think you need to apply to redline and produce a 1/4 mile time ticket below the stated time, which for FWD i think is 12.9 seconds. Iam not 100% positiveas both friends i was with yesterday were invited by TOTB.

Missed out the qualifications bit. Once youve provided proof that your car meets the criteria, youll be invited to a qualification day to backup your submission.

I had a little play with the car tonight.

I remounted the moddified ABS pump bracket, which mounts the pump 2 inches lower to clear the inlet. There was no way i was losing ABS as my wife will be driving this car too.

Now clears the intake pipe by about an inch, which is very good.

Turbo sitting on manifold, doesn't foul on anything now, clearence from bulk head is enough to get my hand in.

Then i had a play with the oil cooler. Fitted the sandwich plate and disconnected and blanked off the water pipes from the original oil cooler.

Here's the 16 row oil cooler

But.................... i cant find anywhere to mount it, i think its a little big, so gonna go for a 13 row cooler i think.

Slowly but surely she is coming together. Fingers crossed for some video footage of its first start on Sunday

can you not tilt the oil cooler at an angle? same frontal cooling area, just less height required?

is TOTB just based on 1/4 mile time?

proper racing has corners - lol
