Vt Engine Mounts ....

Im not sure actually how unlikely it is. I used to have a Subaru, and so read a lot of threads on Scoobynet. You see this happening quite reguarly - these idiot's buy great big turbo's, whack's them on with no remap and hey presto, engine rebuild time...

Obviously, different car/engine/turbo; but the same principle. Id just take it easy mate and not use too much boost. Better safe than sorry, as has been said.

I was about to say, last time I checked they were different cars, but you spotted that too.

THe pissy small injectors that come on the Ibiza are 'close' to peak headroom on a k03s at 3bar.. so you can take the risk, and hope all your injectors are tip top...

well guys ive turned revo off for now and have been driving normally today, but the good news is it will have the revo stage 2 k03s map next tuesday!! cant wait ..

In regards to engine mounts-
We will be able to offer you a better (imo) and cheaper alternative to VT mounts hopefully next week.
These are from a company called Blackforest industries.
They are tried and tested mounts that come in different stages depending on the customers preferance.
I personally run a set in my own car, having used VF and VT mounts previously on various aplications and have found that their lifespan isn't as good as the cost portray's.

and yet VT mounts survivie perfectly well in the 500bhp badgerwagen in 2 seasons of racing and 5 years of road use all above 300bhp..

since my car is a 1.4 i probably wont need such expensive mounts...

my question is, my engine moves quite a bit when you push it about, how do i know if a mount is shot or it is supposed to be like that ?

also how much would a set of new mounts cost me ?

Box, front and rear?

Front is G60 corrado?
Mk2 golf rear?

Hi guys, just managed to finally get hold of a K03S would it be better if i changed the front mounts (Vibra Technics) before the conversion as they do appear to need it or after only asking as money is a issue also .. cant wait to get the K03S on then its Revo st2!!!

I would recommend changing the engine mounts just for more of a safe guard.

You would find that if you have worn engine mounts it can cause extra stress on the downpipe which then can cause the downpipe to crack or one of the gaskets to blow.

The most important of the 3 is the front engine mount which will offer the most rigidity without all 3 being replaced.

I will be able to get competition front engine mount for £144.97 all in delivered.

Understandably the 1.8t is'nt exactly a heavy engine compared to my vr, but then i'm not the only VT user to have their mounts go within 3 years, regardless of engine.
Baisically, what i was getting at, is that the ones we offer are half the cost and just as good, if not better
Just another option really.

exhaust hitting the underside of the car is a dead giveaway.

but (when it's cold) try & rock the engine back & forth. more than a bit of movement means it'll be worn out.
