i need a much slimmer radiator fan, for my ibiza, the cowling is too big and will foul the charger inlet. Anybody on here bought a Slimline fan? or know where i can get a good one? And do i want Blow or Pull (the fan sits engine side of the radiator)

I need as slim a fan as possible, 12" roughly (slightly bigger is ok)

i've looked at pacet, but their site is not very clear on what you'd be ordering.

Anyhelp would be great

Cheers
Chris

i havent looked so this is just an idea but, with some modifications to the bumper could you turn the radiator and fan around or just move the fan to the outside of the radiator, if you switch the positive and negative over on the fan then it will blow rather than suck, could that work

if its on the engine side then its suck if its on the bumper side then its blow,
i have no idea if you could do it atall mate, if you have a good look and see if thres room, i think that if you modified the way the fan bolts up and the back of the bumper then, it should work, if i remember right then there should be room

better off having them behind the rad for efficiency - got twin 6" fans on mine and seems plenty

well the ones we get in come with a temperature probe and relay unit so all it needs is a 12v feed and an earth so is ideal for the kit cars, but im guessing you wouldnt need all that, so im not sure on what it would cost. I think with the relay unit they come in at about 120/130 pounds. Ill ask at work what we can do them for and get back to you.

They are good fans though, about 3/4cm deep aswell

mine are spal fans - wired them up via the original rad thermostat which has power and earth

on the OEM radiator? where did you get them from rob?

will it make much difference tho? having it blow through the radiator?

bought mine from the same outfit that made me a custom rad - radtec in cannock - the rad was made to fit in std ibiza mounts but is 100mm shorter (to give room for a big airbox for throttle bodies) but twice as thick as std and with a more efficient WRC-spec core - for space, I said at the time it would be better to put them on the front but the chap said the efficiency was way better having them on the back - its a specilist rad place so i took his word for it

so now there are twin 6" spal fans on the back

i havent got enough space on the back, it would foul on the charger inlet piping. when i have a bit more money, i might buy 2 x 9" blowers, and mount them on the front, just to make sure there's no overheating
