Hi People, has Anyone Got Their Tfsi Remapped.and If So Was There Much Difference To The Power And Mpg? Im Talkin Bout The Fr 2.0 Tfsi.i Was Quoted £320 For The Remap, taking It From 200 - 240bhp.any Comments Or Advice Please.cheers

what company was the quote from?

A good remap will transform the car, the power band is much bigger, you you do not need to rev it so much, which can improve ecomony. But as its more powerful, it is tempting to push it a bit harder :)

AUTO-TUNE.CO.UK
DO YOU THINK IT IS A GOOD PRICE AND WORTH IT?

Ive never heard of that company before. Have you?

I'd rather go with a well known company that specialises in VAG ECU remapping personally. Like Revo, or APR etc. Thry are more expensive, but alot more experienced.

My Leon is one of the first in the UK and is (open to correction here) the TFSi Sport. Originally the 185 bhp model.
I had it re-mapped by Star Performance in Kirkcauldy, Scotland.
The figures now are 263bhp with 285 ft/lbs of torque.
An absolute dream to drive, factory smooth and the mpg figures are acually better now than they were pre re-map.
Cost two years ago was £499, best money I ever spent

Mine's got a remap from Superchips
The graph looks like this:

Superchips don't seem to be liked on here in comparison to Revo, but I'm very satisfied with it, power is sweet and I still manage ~30MPG too.

The TFSI sport came out a couple of months later than the other Leons I think :)

I had my TFSi Sport remapped by APR (Awesome in Mcr) and found improved economy, about 3 mpg better on average, plus lots more torque low down.

Unfortunately my engine later developed a serious misfire problem and Awesome removed the remap for me, flashing the ECU back to V2 (FR 200 Bhp) but the misfire persisted until the engine wiring loom was replaced under warranty after 16 dealer visits !

Don't think the remap was to blame but am a bit nervous about any more remapping...

Also: Dan is right, the TFSi Sport came out in the UK late October 2005 (6 weeks later than rest of range).

Given that the Cupra had to have mechanical changes to strengthen certain engine parts to allow the increase to 240bhp, wouldn't it be a bit dodgy to take the normal TFSi engine up to this power band?

Not really. VAG over engineer their engines. My last 1.8T and many others on here with various guises of the 1.8T engine are/have run similar increased gains for many 10's of 000's of miles with no problems whatsoever.
