The 11th digit of your VIN code is the factory, decode using the list below:

A Ingolstadt, Germany
B Brussels, Belgium
D Bratislave, Slovakia
E Emden, Germany
G Gratz, Germany
H Hannover, Germany
K Osnabrueck, Germany
M Mexico
N Neckarsulm, Germany; Mlada Boleslav
P Mosel
R Martorell, Spain

You can also visit the site below, which can decode up to the full VIN. The amount it can decode depends on the age of your car.

VW VIN Decoder

:-o good way for the owner of those sites to clone your VIN....

or a passer by to look in your window and write it down as they pass  those that need to usually can and have their ways anyway

There isnt actually much to a vin
The VSSZZZ bit doesnt mean anything
Next 3 digits specify model eg Mk2 Leon is 1PZ
Next digit specigies year eg 9 is 2009
Next digit specifies factory eg R is Martorell
Last 6 digits are unique to that vehicle and holds the factory spec when put into the dealer system
