trip computer

does the leon mk1 1.8 20vt cupra come standard with a trip computer ? if so how do i use it ? also my car makes a crackling noise wen i turn it off! is this it just cooling down of is there something wrong ? can some please help?

I believe it does come with one, well my Cupra R does. On your right hand steering wheel stalk (the wiper one), there should be a button on the very end that you can push up and down to toggle through MPG, Time, Temperature etc.

Yes they do, very useful for seeing how little mpg you get, reset mine every tank full & I can always guarantee to myself off each week!!! but hey ho.....a marvellous car so what the heck

I think only face lift year(02 onwards) models have the full mpg, petrol left meters you can scroll through with the nob on the end of the wiper switch where as all models have the basic trip computer.

this is wot i thought but there is no button on the end of the wiper salk! i am thinking the salk might have been replaced with a older one that doesnt have the button

My 2001 doesn't have the FC.

im guessing yours is a pre 02 model without it then or a 1.4/1.6 or lower ps diesel? and it isnt an easy retrofit mod

its a 02 leon 1.8 20vt so it sould have one shouldnt it?

Think it was an optional extra on the pre facelift models, mine doesn't have one, but one of the ones I looked at when buying mine did.
