Hi there,
I'm new on the site - joined cos my brother's a member and says this is a really good forum.
He's also totally Seat-daft and has given me the bug:D

I ordered a new Seat Ibiza sport coupe (1.6 DSG) in May and I still don't have it.
The dealer (Arnold Clark in Edinburgh), don't seem to have a clue when it will be delivered.

Is anyone else out there having to wait this long for delivery on the new Ibiza sport coupe?

join the queue, i ordered a 1.6cr-tdi at the end of may, and it's not due til the end of september due to the normal 3 month wait for a factory order and seat have put back production on all the 1.6 ibiza's by a month for reasons unknown and they shut down the factory for a fortnight in august so they can repair/upgrade/sort out/the machinery.

ah well, least it'll arrive with a new 59 plate rather than an old 09 one :)

Oh no - that's not good.
I'm driving around in a Mini with a massive hole in the exhaust - was really hoping to have my new Ibiza a lot sooner

Oh well, looks like I'd better treat myself to some gun-gum!!

Thanks for the info tho - it's a lot more than Arnold Clark could tell me!

My 1.9tdi sport was ordered on 30/03/2009, not due for delivery until 27/07/2009 having been put back a month already, so expect a wait!!

My Dad ordered a 5 door 1.6 SE DSG from David Cook in Chadderton in May. Was supposed arrive end of July or 1st week of August.

Hobin in Preston followed up his enquiry made with them, and baulked at the proposed delivery date given by Cooks.

Further enquiries have resulted in a delivery date of mid to late September (which will probably mean October).

My thought is that some production capacity has been shifted to the 1.4 TSI variants recently announced.

Hey,

My 1.6 DSG Sport SC was ordered on 5 May and left Barcelona on 2 July. It should now be in the UK. I am hoping to see it arrive at the dealers this week. It seems to be more like ordering a Maserati, rather then a Seat.

Some Manufactures Have a Reason For A Long Waiting List Such As Bentley And Rolls-Royce - But there had Made, What Can Seat Say!

^^^^^obviously they are making them to order with reduced staff at the factory rather than making car parks full of stock that they may or may not sell.

There is a recession on you know.

LOL @ Banned..

Hi There

I ordered mine last Monday and am asured it will be here by the end of the month. It wasn't a factory order but has most of the kit I wanted and is brand new. I'm not sure if that speeds things up.

I'm also in Scotland, and did ended up going with a dealership in london, who I'm meeting half way to pick the car up. I found the Scottish dealerships were may off the mark on price and delivery.

Fingers crossed both yours and my cars arrive soon!!

If you've ordered a car that already exists then obviously it's going to be ready as soon as it's PDI'd. Ours only took a week from order, again not a factory order.

Hi There
I found the Scottish dealerships were may off the mark on price and delivery.

ye i found that with allot of the scottish ones in the end i went with the Stirling seat garage. im doing the scrappage thing (with my n reg ibiza sport)and my mot is up on sunday, and im apparently getting my new car 1st week in october so there is no point in renewing the mot. im going to get used to the bus again. poor wee car i will be sad to see her go.

Be very careful with that!

Scrapped cars have to have a current MOT to qualify.
Check with the dealer.

It needs to have a valid MOT at the time of order, in fact it can have expired two weeks before the order.
So I assume Stu will know that.

I found the Scottish dealerships pretty hopeless. That's why I had to go to Willoughbys in Nottingham.
A bit of effort and they had me back on the road within 10 days of my MOT expiring - that was more than enough time on the bus! :D
