Just a quick question, would you run stock settings while the new turbo is run in properly, and would you do a track day on the 20th of November and an rr day with less than 1k miles on it?

How long would a new turbo take to run in?

I wouldn't but best ask Awesome. Maybe it's just plug and play!

turbo shouldnt need to be run in rob, but it might be wise to go steady for a little while at least.

do you know if it was the inlet or exhaust side of the turbo that failed?

Pretty much bolt on and go turbos, you've had no head work or custom mapping. Awesome will no doubt check all the gaskets and make sure there are no air leaks. From that point on it should be back to normal.

But its always wiser to hold back a bit with the loud pedal, let things settle in. :)

Not sure which side think it was inlet, ill get back to you on that.

So you think i should be ok to do the trackday on the 20th of november if i keep it steady for a couple of weeks and the rr day on the 12th of december?

Bent turbo blades are not the cause of remapping, blown oil seals maybe but not bent blades. Could well have been a duff turbo to begin with. Send it off to an independant turbo specialist and ask thier opinion, if it turns out that your mods can't have caused the problem send it back to SEAT for a refund.

£650+VAT must be the start of the supply of purchase and send back your old one for refurb as they cost something like £1300 with no exchange as memory serves.

I thought that the turbo had to be supplied with the associated manifold as it comes as one complete unit.

All I know is that I priced a turbo from a main dealer and at the time they said it was expensive as they still only did "sale only" and the price was well over a grand. If you are getting one for £650+VAT (£747.50), thats at least £500 cheaper than you could buy a brand new one from SEAT. Therefore I believe this must be an exchange deal. Could be wrong mind, but I wouldnt think so.

Thats good Rob. They must have reduced the price from when I spoke to the dealer in question. I would still think that for the near £400 you are saving on the main dealer price that there has to be a catch though (ie exchange). Best check it out if you are expecting to have your original one back for whatever reason.

bent blades on the inlet side 99% of the time means something has been ingested.

and less than 2 weeks since you had your intake fitted .
im no hercule poirot but i think theres a rabbit away here.

Thats bad and good news for you mate.
If your blades have been damaged on the intake side then it would oint to a foreign object being present.
Noticed you done just over 20,000 miles
where did you get your car serviced last?

hope it all goes well mate.
have SEAT revoked your warranty now on all future claims?
