Has anyone used these discs and pads before??

ttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270482119810&fromMakeTrack=true

Put an h at the start of above link to see the ones im talking about, £70 inc delivery seems pretty cheap to me. Seller gets decent feedback also! Liklely to be cheap parts but saying that so are the steelers genuine parts everything is out of China these days.

Just looking for anyones experience

Cheers

everytime you drive you will crash.... think about it, you set off you drive inevitably you will hit something, the only thing stopping you hitting something is your brakes, thats the only thing.... so why would you skimp on the only thing that can and will stp you from crashing and hurting or worse killing yourself???

cant understand it, skimp on other mods but not brakes and tyres matey.

Thanks for the thoughts.

I cant see them being that bad why would they be allowed to sell them. All brakes and pads are now made in the same factories in China so it makes no odds your paying for the name! Anyone got any evidence that these units have killed anyone?? If so let me know be interested to read about it.

Just sick of being part of rip off Britain.

brakes is nothing to save $$ on..
if it sounds to good to be true it probebly is. :)

I think that you get wath you pay for in most things.

Who's to stop them selling?

Plenty of threads on this forum & many others of the pad backing literally falling off the pad material when they get used.

There's and old saying - you get what you pay for.
Email them and ask what brand of parts they are.

Yep have to agree its not worth scrimping on this.

I would have thought trading standards would not allow them to sell if there had been any issues in the past, suppose its very hard to prove.

I will give eurocarparts a call and get some decent ones from them, always fancied giving the power discs that they sell a try. What make of pads are recommended by you guys from them??

Cheers

Just an update, i have contacted the seller and he has said the following

"they are branded either Allied Nippon or Comline & are sourced through Comline. They are made to the same specifaction as O.E
For quality assurance please visit www.comline.uk.com"

Anyone used these parts in the past or can comment on there quality?? I have had a look at the site and its states its all matching OE quality.

Cheers

Nippon are ok for micras lol, thats about it, i put mintex in mine, there a reputable make, just dont suit fast road use too much, its not gone nowhere since so cant say what there like LOL.

I agree with shaunyboy, if they were mintex i'd buy them. If not dont bother.

don't confuse the allied with the well known Nippon brand mind as it's nowhere near, these are budget made and budget priced at the very lower level of the aftermarket, I've been involved with factors and aftermarket parts for a long time and have the policy that if i wouldn't fit or use it then i wouldn't sell it but to be honest i wouldn't expect much for that kind of money

Caveat emptor

Ebay is unregulated and all sorts of shyte is flogged on there.

NOT all brakes are made in China FFS..

By your totally flawed 'illogic', everything is the SAME because its made in China??? LMAO

How laughable is that..

sorry dude.. you could'nt be more wrong

I would stear clear of those you posted.

I have bought CRN brakes from eBay before for a previous car which were excellent, I'm not sure if they manufacture them for the Leon though but might be worth a search!

I paid over £350.00 for my set of discs & pads and they are pants, worse than the ones I took off. Sometimes you just dont know what will make things better.

No i do agree me being a numpty, but there is a fair amount of stuff getting made in China these days though.

Anyway I opted for Mintex as i am not intending going racing, the last set i fitted were mintex and they lasted over 50K miles so pretty good. Even when i took them off the pads still looked ok it was just the discs were slightly ridged.
