Order placed / Spec changes

Hi All

Well i went ahead and ordered my FR 2.0 TSI yesterday. Factory order, so now just have to play the waiting game. I will add the spec of my order to my sig when i get a minute.

On another note, my dealer had recived a bulletin a day or two before about some changes to the leon spec, i cant remember the full details but there are some colour removals and some new colours available, the convenience pack is also now standard on the FR, and a couple of other changes, sorry i cant remember the full details.

Wasnt the conv pack going to be standard on the new Cupra R?

yes the convenience pack will be standard on FR and above from build week 22.
I placed an order yesterday and the dealer is going to stall actually placing the order to ensure I get the new spec. The other major changes are that the standard radio display has been redesigned and the Seat Media unit will come with DAB digital radio.

Gutted...dealer said there was no changes coming for 2010 model. Oh well....

... oh and you are no longer able to order the Black alloys, apparently due to ongoing issues with the ones already sold!

Wasnt aware of any issues? Explains why my dealer had at least 3 orders with the black wheels arrive at once. Prob trying to get them out of the door!

Gutted...dealer said there was no changes coming for 2010 model. Oh well....

Yeah sorry but the dealer happened to casually mention the changes halfway through the negotiations. Obviously meant that I didn't need to order the convenience pack to go with the Tech pack. As Danw mentioned the only other changes were colours i.e. doing away with Kiwi, Citrus, Orange and one of the Greys and adding another shade of yellow i believe.

Apparently very prone to pitting, I assume from the brake dust. I wouldn't have gone for them anyway as the wheel tends to stand a bit proud of the tyre making them susceptible to kerbing and after seeing what my wifes done to the wheels on her Ibiza I chickened out. That was before I found out I didn't have the option!
Decided to go for the standard 17's then when the tyres are shot go for after-market wheels.

Sorry only really read the bit of the bulletin that related to the FR and the dealer just said "the Black Alloys" and didn't specify which models.

Ah no worries. Appreciate your inside info. Picking mine up tues. Have see whether I can seal the alloys to protect them.

I got my FL FR last july, does anyone think the dealer will give me a conv pack now? As you have thought it would be on the facelift from the day they brought it out not have sort of a phase 2!

Not sure if it's something you can retro fit but I think even if it was it would be an unlikely event after 10months. Must admit I'd be a bit pee'd if I ordered a while ago and my car was built week 21 and then the new 2011 spec takes affect in week 22!

So its from build week 22? So should I be asking my dealer to hold back on the order to make sure I get the new specs applied?

Certainly worth asking on Monday as he wouldn't be able to place the order before then if you only agreed on saturday. I made sure the dealer confirmed it would be the new spec, I think worth the wait of a few extra weeks to get the upgraded Seat Media and save £225 for the convenience pack needed to go with the Tech pack!
He may agree to foot the bill for the Convenience pack so that it doesn't hold the sale up but there's not a lot he would be able to do about the upgraded Seat Media though I wouldn't have thought. Depends how much you fancy DAB?

Thanks for the response, well if i can get the DAB free, then it is worth waiting another week or two, but then again i dont know how long it takes for an order to go onto their system and then into the build process, maybe it will be after week 22 anyway?

I pick my car up Tuesday, and to be honest I would prefer the black alloys to a DAB radio. I live in the hills I can't get channel 5 never mind a DAB signal

I have ordered on the 31/03/2010 a new Leon Cupra, the dealer never mentioned anything about spec changes on this model. He has placed the order with black alloys technology & convenience pack + never mentioned radio etc.

Dealers were literally on just notified of these changes this week.

I will have to give them a call tomorrow to see if there are any changes, they have charged me for the Tech & Con packs + wheels, they may knock me some off or I could be Mr Un-Lucky lol
