I need some help with the flangs for vf38 ,i like to know if some one is make this flangs?

thanks ,Yossie

what i have is a twin scroll and it is not the same like the vf34 that you have.
thanks Yossie

is this the same flange as a vf34?
i have flanges for vf34 inlet and outlet

It's the same turbo as I am fitting bill (see my manifold build thread) iirc vf44 and vf45 also share the same flanges as does the TD04HLA 19t which is the mitsi version, also vf36 and vf37 may also be twin scroll but I'm not 100% on that or there flange pattern.

As for finding flanges yossie there are some on eBay if you search vf38 you will find them although I'm not sure if they are SS or what the quality of them is like, and I also found one of the Subaru tuning companys do a cast outlet section with a built in flow devider but I can't remember the name of the company but if you google it you should find it. However in the end I had SS flanges cut/ machined for my manifold as it was the most cost affective option for me, again see my manifold build thread for pictures of what you will be looking to have made if you went down that route.

Hope that helps a bit,

Tasha

Hi yossie, I did suspect that the 36/37 are diffrent to the 38 ones as that's what my local Subaru dealer thought when I enquired about gaskets but they could not confirm for sure as the program they had on there pc was in Japanese or somthing:(.
The flanges I have my boyfriend made for me as he is in the engineering industry, and on that basis they cost me nothing ;), but any good machine/sheet metal shop should be able to make you a set and I would say around £60-80 for the set would be a fair price, which may seem expensive but you have to rembemer they will hav to tool up for two one off custom flanges so the time scale for the work is increased significantly.

Hi Guys & Girls,
Im building a kit car with a 1.8 ltr turbo engine and I have brought a IHI VF36 twin scroll turbo, I know theres alot of far easier turbo options but the quick spooling of the ihi twin scroll turbos is too tempting :D
I was just wondering if anybody had any advice with my set up, Im trying to source the flange drawings for the turbo and the mandrel bends at the moment so i can begin making the manifold, does anyone know what sort of runner length i should be aiming for?

Many Thanks :)

Hi, the fast spool of these turbos was what attracted me to, I just hope the work is worth it! As for runner lenghts I asked the same question before I started to build my manifold but didn't really get an answer, but I did want it all equal lenght which is nice to have if space alowes but not esential.
In the end the runners ended up at aprox 18" which I think is about the same as bills old equal length IHI mani, as for the flanges they were all made from measurments taken from the turbo as I found it impossible to track down any drawings.

Hi Tasha, Thanks for your reply, I too am finding it difficuilt trying to track down a drawing of the flanges! Wouldnt be such a big deal if the flanges wernd such rediculous shapes lol
What turbo are you running & how does it perform?
Im hoping to use my car on the track when its finished, hopefully it will hold out!!
