Music off drives with the windows down at low speeds is whats its all about!! I like booting it so it changes down but then keeping the same speed, the BOV makes a nice noise :) I do like supercharger whines!

Just noticed mine doing this today when pressing the accelerator, not noticed this before, due a service in the next few weeks so will hopefully get it sorted :)

Bocanegra in white with all the options :)

"Update"

The chirping/squeaking started to get worse, took it for the service (in Kent where I work)and was told they couldnt see anything wrong but had no experience of this engine so would ring around their other dealerships and get back to me, which they didn't.

Gave up waiting as had now started to experience lack of power or long lag below 3000rpm (weird sensation when going round a bend and power kicks in) so took it to my dealer where I live near Chester - completely different attitude, they were aware of some issues with the supercharger clutch/water pump, they found a fault code against the suspected item and replaced the clutch - now all back to normal :)

Congrats mate, glad all is in ship shape order for you again. Who the hgell trains some of these ppl up at the dealers. Too much inconsistency between branches.

Bocawata - You messaged me asking about getting it sorted, cant message you back, guess i havent posted enough, this is the history...

When I first got the car the first thing I noticed was how smooth the power was all the way up the rev range. It was great for a bit and then I first noticed it chirping which I assume was the supercharger switching in or out.

Then one morning I went to accelerate and it felt quite flat until it reached 3000rpm, at which point the power surged. If I kept it in S mode it would be ok as the revs always stayed high.

Initially I thought it would be the belt slipping then decided it couldnt be this as it would work once it stopped slipping. As my service was nearly due I decided to have the service done early and get it checked out. The dealer told me they couldnt see anything wrong and the road test was ok. I then got them to admit that they had never seen a 1.4TSI engine and there reply was they would make some calls and get back to me, which they didnt.

Got fed up of waiting so chased them up to no avail. Rang a different dealer and asked them outright if they had experience of this engine and could I speak to a tech, there reply was we know what we are doing and you cant speak to a tech, the girl had never even heard of a bocanegra so didnt feel confident with them either.

Rang my local dealer in Chester and asked the same questions, the service guy explained he was a VW trained master tech, he knew the engine and explained there was a known issue with the clutch which is part of a water pump which engages an extra drive belt that drives the supercharger (this is engaged electrically). If this isnt working then no supercharger. He told me there was an uprated replacement part and they would order it just in case. When I collected the car he explained that there had been a fault code stored which recorded the clutch as faulty.

The car was in and out in a day.

The car now brings a smile again, hope this helps :)

Just had that done and the turbo as well. It now drives like it did when it had done its first 1100 miles or so. I had noticed an appriciable drop in power. The Master Tech at my dealer knew exactly what the problem was straight away. Thumb up or SMC Windsor, took a while sorted now.

Mines had the uprated water pump fitted on it for about 5k now, just noticed it squeaking again.

I was trying to talk to my local dealer about it today as I am sure my charger is also slipping but do you think they could help?! Frikken useless bunch of fools, it was such an effort for the guy I spoke to just to get through to the workshop. Can any one recommend a dealer outside of London but close to London that has decent customer service. I am really not happy and am thinking of getting rid of my boc and going back to VW. That is a big thing for me as I am a very staunch supporter of SEAT but the way I am being treated is just turning me off the brand now............................

Emmer Green Garage in Reading. Never had an issue with them..

Hmmm.....

Mine has this odd sound. Only happens sometimes. When hit half throttle and low revs its like something trying to engage and then goes away. took it to seat cant see any problems. But i might pop in to VW dealer.and ask about it.

supercharger

I took my fr in to solve this squeaking problem and lack of low down power. said they had reflashed the ecu because they noticed a air intake pressure sensor fault code which dissapeared. And after they took it for a retest and the fault had gone. After about 7 days of them testing, and hooking it up to various test programs, they sent it all off to seat main dealer and came back with it needing a new water pump. How does this have anything to do with the supercharger coupling apart from being in close proximity to it?
