Yep, not far off timing belt time. Can anybody tell me what the stock belt might be, in brand terms. My local wants to put a Gates belt on, and he's pretty sure it will be a Gates belt thats on at the mo. Has anybody stripped one themselves lately?

you could always get a belt from, a dealer. sere motors do a good deal on them. i got mine off david there for a lot less than the motor factor wanted. cant remember who made the belt now as it was a while ago. gates are a good brand anyway. so if ya go for that dont worry

its either goin to be gates or continental who make the belt if you buy from a dealer.

Depends on the intervals you change the belt at. I think I'd be changing the water pump every 4 years/60k.

I actually meant Timing belt tensioner / rollers.

are right thats ok then i did the hole kit for 100 quid if i remember right.

Yeh got that DPJ. I didn't want to ask about covered ground before doing some searches. Some sensitive people on this site, ha! Defo, got the metal impeller pump on the cards at the same time. Just need to read up on the other bits. From what ive seen, the tensioners add a bit of money to the bill.

Worth checking out, thanks. Looks like Gates gets the thumbs up though.
