Revision D Diverter Valve

Had a quick search of previous posts on this topic.

I have seen many people complaining that the original DV can split.

Out of curiousity just taken mine apart to look at it. It looks like the earlier version and the piston still seems to have some spring left in it.

For those that have fitted the revision D DV (other than when the earlier version has broken) have you noticed any difference or just done this 'cause the plan is to add more power later and considered it a worthwhile upgrade as not too expensive and easy to fit?

Views please

FYI - My current DV which I assume is the earlier version;

There is no difference in performance with this. What happens in the rev c (and G) ie the style you have is that the rubber part tears. With no rubber on rev D, there is nothing to tear.

Being fair, on a Cupra with it being away from the heat of the turbo, the chances are Rev C/G will be good. That being said, Rev D is the best/cheapest way ahead. Unless you like expensive/pointless bling in your engine bay, ignore expensive valve upgrades that do nothing more than the OEM Rev D valve does.

Cheers Al,

Sounds like sensible advice :)

I'm not after adding 'bling' just for the sake of it, unless it has true performance (rather than noise) benefits!

I thought my current DV looked in reasonable condition was just doing some investigating as my car seems down on power at moment. It may be i'm just too used to the stage1 now and need to go off and add a few more bits.

The fact the car at standard before the map was only running 225bhp on the dyno still left me feeling something wasnt quite right. It's been serviced recently and nothing found to be problematic, probably just me

I'm now left with wondering if the valve spings might be the next thing for me to check (see if I have the yellow and white ones!) but thats a pig of a job I believe though.

225 does seem low mate to say mine was 50 bhp higher at standard. my rvd valve was ok i just changed it to be on the safe side really and will at p torque recomended it. out of interest have you changed your cam follower?

I havent check the cam follower. I did ask them to have a check at last service but was overlooked.

I'm not sure how easy it is to do but i'm still leaning toward the autotech hpfp in the sort term so will most probably get them to check that then

Is there a possibility this could be causing a drop then?

How easy is it to check yourself?

As much as it pains me to say it, if I was starting from scratch, I would seriously look at the APR fuel pump unit.

Checking the cam follower is relatively easy and quick to do.

i cant do it myself i dont trust myself haha dont think its too difficult though mate if your half decent with cars theres a guide somewhere. Maybe the follower could cause power loss im unsure. I cant justify a grand on a hpfp and cai so im getting a panell filter and 3inch exhaust system and thatl be me hopefully run around 330 hp

Out of curiosity, was the rev d DV fitted to any cupra's at factory or has it always been an aftermarket fit?

it would have made it onto the production line probaby a month or so after it was released or maybe fitted to the face lift model when that was released.

i dont really think you will be able to tie it down to a date though

Hello There,
I believe your leon fr would be a TFSI engine
The revision D DV came on the new 2.0 TSI engines and will fit straight on to the TFSI.
So your vehicle will not have the newer one as standard.
I hope that helps

Thanks
Hassan
