Hi Guys, it's silver, 09 plate, 14k on clock, 18''s.. in mint condition and I pick it up Friday:D which i'm really looking forward to!! Hope to get some pics on at some point..

One question, it's not got the FR badge on the rear (I presume it's been de-badged by the prev owner but not sure), how much am I looking at from a dealer for one to be put on as I'd prefer it to have the FR on the back...

Cheers

Sounds nice mate! I've the same but 2006.

I'd get one from ebay. There only a couple of quid posted i think. I would imagine dealer will be more expensive.

Hope you like your car when you get it :)

Thanks mate. I'll have a shop around. Yeah hope so too :D loved it on the test drive, i've changed from having an 07 Astra SRI petrol so it's much quicker. I was impressed how refined and reasonably quiet it was.

Can anyone advise the major differences between the FR and the rest of the range for me? (apart from the obvious power ) I noticed the ESP button in the cabin any benfit of ever pressing this on and off?:D

Thanks

Fr differences that i know of are Bigger brakes all round.i think they sit 12mm lower? and maybe stiffer anti roll bars?

Thanks mate. Apologies for my lack of knowledge am learning...;)

Well I finally picked up my FR last night after a slight delay from my bank[:@]

Wow I'm so impressed by the car - absoloutley love it!! Fabulous to drive!! Although very different to a petrol (it's my first diesel) so it will take a little bit to get used to where the power is and how to drive it best.. found my self changing down too early:redface: (it's also my first 6speed)..

Will get some pics up soon.. I'm also weighing up whether to get the FR badge put on as it's de-badged... not sure what to do...

One happy new SEAT owner here:D:D

glad your pleased with it mate :) hope it gives you many hours of happy motoring

Well thought I'd post an update on my 09 FR TDI after owning the car for nearly 3 months..

My thoughts are:

Love the car to drive, fast, very smooth, handles like a dream - it really sticks to the road and is very poised going round corners quickly.

Plenty of power although I'd like another 30bhp (but maybe that's me being greedy:D) a bit too much wheel spin when booting it though, especially in 2nd and 3rd, you really have to be careful if you want the tyres to last!

Deceptivley roomy inside as from the outside it doesn't look particularly roomy but when your driving or a passenger it feels much bigger, excellent cabin storage also.

No problems at all with the car to date , only downside so far is poorer than expected MPG. I'm averaging only 39 to 40 at best, Seat state around the 50mpg mark combined I believe, I know the CR 170 is more effiecient but I expected better from the PD DPF engine.

Overall though love the car, would definately recomend one to anyone.

Cheers, Rob.

I get low 40s from my Sport knocking about but considering I used to get 33 out of my 1.25 Fiesta, I'm not moaning. Interior space is better than it look like it might be, but I can't help feeling an XL should've been on my radar for a much bigger boot.

Having said that, I don't think I could've loved the "Marvin, The Paranoid Android" rear end too much. It looks so sad.

Lol I don't like the XL it's much too big for my liking.. Re mpg I had astra 1.8 before, got around 30 mpg out of that so it's much better but not the big diff I thought it would be..

My 56 plate FR only does 39-40 mpg. The DPF is coming off shortly, that should improve the MPG a little.

So glad i have found this thread i was wondering about the mpg as I also have the 170 FR and its not as economical as stated in the info i read about it before buying. I also get in the low 40's but its still a lot better than the Focus ST i had before :) and i do love the torgue when you put the foot down in 3rd gear even the kids are slowing starting to forgive me for getting rid of the ST they just hate the colour now :(

Had mine for just about a month now, i do approx 170 miles a day (courier) and when watching the trip, i manage about 46mpg! Rest of time it averages about 42mpg, the same as my previous car, a Honda 2.2 Tdi sport..... that really was a great car !, but this one definitely has the smile factor. :D
