Hello all, I have recently bought my wife a leon Fr, a second hand one, great condition. It came with a chrome trim at the bottom of the boot lid. It was peeling a little, so Mr DIY here thought he could fix it, guess not. I ended up pulling the entire chrome piece of, and now I am left with a strip of thick clear rubbery glue like substance. I have picked a lot of it off, but an still left with residue. Any idea how I can remove this without affecting the paint. My wife also wants the chrome strip put back on, any ideas what kind of adhesive I could use.

Cheers everyone.

To remove the residue, use something like Autoglym Tar Remover and micro fibre cloth so not to damage the paint and and give it a good old rub, then polish up :)
As to stick it back on with, have a search on the internet, if not, you'll have to buy a new strip :(
