I agree.. I would say the Mk1 would be as quick if not quicker initailly, but once over 100mph the weight advantage is pretty much gone and it's then down to good old bhp and engine capacity..

And aerodynamics

im sorry but your both wrong, above 100 its down to who evers got the biggest balls !! i personally very much doubt id take a mk1 above 130, let alone get to 165 !! dont think it would perform to well if you lost it !!

I was just about to say that. 100mph aint nothing though :cartman:

I mean once you start getting around 165mph plus stuff starts going by really quickly, and thats from the isolated feeling of a modern car. But in a mk1 golf weighing 800kg? Na not even im that brave to do that, but then again there will always be someone out there who is!

Its like when you watch 500hp evos against supercars. In the lower gears the evo will keep up or even be infront for a while, but at higher speeds the supercar stretches its legs and waves goodbye to the japanese nutter.

I'll happily admit it isn't the most stable of cars at speed, the fact the doors wanted to pull themselves off kinda proved that. It never seems to stop accelerating. I've got a(poor) speedo vid of 50-130/140 @3/4 throttle. I'll post that when I'm indoors.

I take it the car must have the gearbox from a 1.8T car?

I have seen 187mph on the clock in the pissing rain on my R1. Not sure how much the bike had left to go before I let off. This was done at RAF Lossiemouth in Moray 3 years back.

Sure Blade will have been faster as he has two 2010 sports bikes, and mine is an elderly 2005 bike.

I reckon Blaed's probably been faster in his car..

I had 167km/h in mine (GPS), but don't think it would go much over 170-175km/h tbh ;)

is that let off ? or fell off???????:lol::blink:

There are 2 types of bikers . . . . . Those that have fallen off and those that are going to . . . .

Aye could do. Hardly used it this year though. Once to Edinburgh and back home and 2 local blasts. 400 miles i think.

North West 200 in May if you fancy.....

Never been, but always fancied it.

If I had a bike oh boy, id be dead in a week.

Anyhow blade, your car seems to have been beaten in the torque stakes. 418lbft of torque from a cupra apparently

Well, its funny how all of a sudden Revo makes APR look crap. Blatant advertising i would say. They must think we (the customers) are stupid:ban:

agreed. Its not as if revo have some magical technology or know how to make them a cut above everyone else. They just have a different take on how the car should drive, but nothing that should yield 30hp extra over a apr map!
