Mazzerati's yellow mk3 cupra - K04-001 hybrid

last week i decided to give her all this

new rear brake discs and pads
oil filter
pollen filter
5w30 oil
spark plugs and i set the gaps to 0.028" as specified in the FAQ'

then she repaid me by over heating and and dropping all its water, suspect headgasket.
which resulted in this on thursday night

then this saturday morning

after compression tests, and some other rubbish turned out headgasket was fine
and the culprit was this

that had broke off and somehow smashed this

into pieces!

anyway £130 later i had all of this

and fitted it! and tada all well again!

runs like a dream and now have piece of mind that all the belts are new as well as tensioners.

and today i recieved this email

good times!

my old one fell off sounds like its got a screamer pipe on boost its amazing, apart from police are not fond of it...

Thanks matey doubt I'll ever sell them, winter wheels I reckon.

Exhaust is all fitted and mot stamp for the police has been submitted only to probably have the exhaust removed again tomorrow or Saturday for the downpipe... Oh well haha

Pulls alot better though and sounds incredible

Good thread so far - Shame the water-pump let go - never seen a thermostat do that before!

My water-pump did the same - thankfully I was close to home so managed to limp back stopping every 2 minutes!

Metal impellers are much better!

Exhaust sounds sick

Last night coming home I developed a stuttering from the turbo like the actuator was sticking?

Oiled her up pushed it back and forth and greased it
Replaced the n75 valve with a new one
And serviced my dv.

The stutter has gone but it's like it's not as quick?
Could this be a maf problem? Cos it's pretty mucky... And it has a green cotton induction cone... Which I believe are oiled?

Is there a way of cleaning it? Or should I just man up and buy another?
