Bit of a poor comparison, the 4000 is from an old range and the other doesnt have as many features.
If you want to use the USB then get the 4000ub.

Dont go by max figures, check out the rms values as even though they may both state 50w one may well only be 18w rms and the other 16w rms so I would personally go with whichever has the higher rms output if you arent bothered about the USB

i have this one its pritty good ime sure its on offer in halfords at the mo

I was looking at that one in halfords today, im skeptical about getting an aftermarket head unit mainly because the factory one has fantastic sound quality and has a "LOUD" button that makes it sound even more amazing, only want a change simply because I want to play my ipod, my other option which is probably the way im going to go, it buy a cd changer.

You can play your ipod through the original, any of the good brands of stereo will be an improvement over the original regardless of how good you may think it is :)

dont listen to halfords-they are rubbish.
You have 2 choices either a true ipod connection see here: http://www.connects2.co.uk/c2search.aspx?catID=27&manID=228&modID=593
one of first 2. These are true ipod connection and allow you to control track, playlist and volume of the ipod on the stereo, will charge depending upon your ipod.

2nd option is just an aux in, see here: http://www.connects2.co.uk/c2search.aspx?catID=42&manID=228&modID=593
this is volume only control and no charge
again one of first 2.

Reason for a choice of 2 in each is due to whether you have a cd changer or cd changer prep in the car.

I dont currently have a cd changer but thinking of getting one, going to check for the prep tomorrow.

The new ibiza is different, it is prepped for aux in, the mk1 leon isnt
aux in is about £25
ipod about £50
you cant have a cd changer and these, one or the other

unless you buy a dension gateway kit and a cd changer retention lead
