Interior Question!

Right, Ive purchased another bargain off ebay! Seat Sport seats with door cards for 100quid! Just need collecting hehe. Question is, the rear door cars have electric window switches, and my car does not have electric windows in the rear, would it be possible to cut a hole in the door card to make way for the roll-up crank and just have the electric switches for decoration, or how difficult is it to make the rear windows electric? Also, the drivers door card has controls for four windows and mine only has controls for 2 windows, will the unit thats in the existing door cards control only the front two?

I cant offer much help apart from in theory you could cut a hole in the rears... wouldnt recommend it though lol.

Yea, I believe they are from a Cupra. Why wouldnt you reccomend cutting a hole?

Put a dollop of paint on the end of the spindle for the winder and hang the top of the door card in place and see where the mark sits, you should be able to tell if it will hit or miss anything.

i have no idea about converting to full electrics though... imagine that would be a ballache though.

well yeah cutting the whole is viable as long as you check it doesnt foul anything on the doorcard.

as for the front drivers panel. does it look majorly like yours? i assume yours is just blank plastic where the rear switches should be.

In theory, if thats the case... if your handy you could move the window switch panel from the old doorcard to the new set right?

And use a hole saw for the winder, it'll make a far neater job than anything else.

I'm not sure how the whole electric window thing works, I know there's a unit somewhere that the switches connect to and then from there to the doors but no idea if it's a different one for a two window or four. You could probably pick up the unit for four windows though and the wiring loom for the rear doors if you're willing and able to do it.

You might get the wiring diagram from a haynes manual too.

Is there much of a difference looks wise between your old rear door cards and new rear door cards?

They are just a different color, and my rear door cards dont have electric windows, and my drivers door only has control for 2 front windows and the new one has controls for 4 windows.

This is the best pic I could find of my current door card without snapping a new one, you can just make out my passenger one.

Well thats the plan, but I must say im not a fan of the light gray door cards to being with.

I havent spent as much money as you think I have. And to be fair, the "better" car that I would want would be unaffordable on insurance.
