was acturly pretty funny was driving my car pretty hard and the brake pads on one side pretty much caught on fire loads of smoke.
i put some cheap epc or whatever pads on may note im running 6pot tarox calipers
is it the crap pads that are burning but why only on one side.
i got a price for a change of proper tarox pads and grooved discs.
330 pound broke my heard im thinking of going brembo setup.

as you said im thinking somthing might be sticking such a hassle getting them off and sent off for a service but looks like i might have to. i personaly dont overly rate them
a lot better than standard but when your looking down the barrel of 330 for discs and pads. im thinking for the extra i could just get brembos with 330s rather than the 6pot 280s i have now.
might go back to standard for a bit and save.
thoughts please people..

I have tarox b32 6 poters running EBC yellows and brembo max discs. Yellow pads cost under £80 and the 312mm discs came in at £115 . I do track days and this set up is rather good.:) Will post a link for the pads if you want one.

Take them off And check the seals and stuff. It will probably be the pads. EBC are crud :/

yer i have hurd bad things and ebc too but they cost 80 off ebay also yellow stuff pads next min they are on fire and dont work.
im sure they need new piston seals or whatever but tarox dont do a rebuild repair kit that i can find.
kinda stuck and dont want to fork out 330 and not solve my problem. i best get them off and have a look

Here's the link. The pads for the B32 tarox caliper are actually of a merc ML400 4x4 that weighs a couple of tons this caliper design has no problems stopping my mk4 ibiza over and over even on a track day.
EBC yellows are good value and work very well the rest of the range are crap.

The pistons should move easily. I take my pads out every few months to wire brush the pads, clean out the grove in the pads and also clean the pistons on the caliper with brake cleaner so they come up like new. Never get any problems with sticking pistons that way.

to me it sounds like you have a binding brake, you can either strip the brakes down and re-grease the pads and check the condition of the boots around the piston. And try bleeding the brakes.

Yeah the back of the pad, the side that doesnt contact the disc lol, just use some Cera-tec from euro-car-parts i cant remeber the full price it is alot better then the copper grease, also remeber to Emery paper the carrier which is the part that the caliper sits in. the grease will stop any squeels and sticking that will happen, dont forget to pry back the brake caliper piston. The parts you will mainly need to grease are the "feet" of the pad and the back of the pad and maybe if you want the carrier. ALWAYS REMEBER TO PUMP YOUR BRAKES AND CHECK BRAKE FLUID BEFORE DRIVING AFTER RE-FITTING PADS *Make sure engine is switched *OFF* before pumping brakes to make sure the pedal goes solid, it should not go down any more once its gone hard unless if air makes it into the system make sure you brake fluid cap is secure. Also if you struggle to pry the piston back remove the brake fluid resoviour cap to allow the fluid to move more freely.

Do they come away and leave a frame or do you undo the (17's?) and the whole lot come away??
