good luck i would be very very careful with it, even if you get the car towed there by a breakdown would be better ideally your call tho

Has this thread gone pete tong?!

Defo dont drive it sam?? Im with the AA FULLY covered..would they come tow me to my garage or should i drive 5 min then ring them and say 'oh..ive broken down..please come and tow me to the garage' lol

if you gonna drive it keep your heater fan on should take a bit of hjeat away be better to get a tow though

so what are the diffrences between both units and what do they both do not used any before so havent got a clue.....

this is not intended for laserguns or gatso cameras lol
when you sell a car put this over number plates it reflects the FLASH from cameras saves you time blurring the plates on computer lol

I drove my cupra from REading to Bristol with the water pump problem and it made it, I had to stop a few times and let it tick over to cool down and as soon as it beeped to say overheating I would coast until the temp dropped.
The repair including belt and water pump - metal impellor - cost me £195. That was 18 months ago and its still going so I'd not have an issue driving 5 miles, not ideal but the engines aren't made of chocolate.

Lucky man!!! Like I said my experience was the opposite .
For the sake of a tow it's worth it.

Got it towed :) thanks for all the advice guys! (as id have driven it in lol) Fingers x'ed the bill is somewhere around Matts price and not the original £325! Still... cheaper than a new engine eh lol :)

sorry to tag on the end of this ... but can anyone help me?
i have had the same issue with my car getting hot, so first idea was the thermostat at the pipe coming off the thermostat is cold when all of the others are getting hot, so changed thermostat this didnt solve the problem so took the thermostat out and still a cold pipe when others are hot.
the only other thing i can think of is my water pump may have given up the ghost or could this be somthing else?

dont think so cant see anything goin back in but the water is very hot in there

cool cheers for your help, need to take it down the garage and get some prices, anyone have ideas on prices
