Heat Shield

Hi everyone, im kind of a noob to the seat forum seen, i havent posted anything up before, just been reading into a few things and i have a few question to ask. Heres the deal...

My cupra as far as i know has;

Universal fmic
forge diverter valve
Full power flow exhaust (decat)
blue flame down pipe
4 bar fpr
forge tip
AMD stage 2 Remap

I now wana fit a cone filter most probably jetex? as it seems the most popular, i also wouldnt mind a heatshield like Jabbasport do but i cant find any for sale and dont want to spend so much. looking at the pics on their site, i rekon i could make something similar at work. Does anybody have any dimensions or drawings of heatshield they have made or purchased. I know its a little farfetched but id like to have a go at making one before trying to source one.

With the DV i have already fitted would i get the pshhhh sound once i fit a cone filter ? i can hear it slightly but its nowhere near as loud as i would like it to be, would i have to go for the 007P ?

My aim is to get all of the supporting mods done before i find a k03s and get a remap so i can get the most out of it :D

Jetex or Green filter are the ones I would go for, Jetex being the cheapest @ around £50.
Why dont you mock a heatshield out of card untill you get a nice fit then make it out of ally...

It sounds like you already have the 007p if its not very loud.. but yes a open cone will deffinately make it louder.. you can also remove the bonnet lining which can dampen the sound a bit... and reverse fit the dumpvalve. A silicon Turbo inlet pipe such as the forge one will also give you some more DV noise.

You wont need a new map to go k03s btw if you are already stage 2 just need it tweaking. Should save you some $$
 
Really, ye that should save me a few quid. As for the cone filter do i just need to buy a jetex filter that fits the 70 mm MAF or is there one thats made especially for the ibiza?

Have you called Jabbasport to find out a price on the heatshield? I think they do sell it seperately on it's own and you can make up the intake pipe and add the cone yourself. I run a green filter with a jabbasport heatshield and it works well. The green filter I have has a thread on the end and you can fix it to the inner wing so it is secure and not flapping about. Add a 45 deg silicone hose from Forge and a joiner section (70mm) / jubilee clips and you have the kit made up...
 
Yeah i called jabbasport today and they said that the ibiza heatshield is specially designed to go with a certain filter that they use since theres limited space, they couldnt give me a price straight away for some reason but they could for the leon cupra r. The leon's heatshield is around £100 on its own and tbh if i tried i rekon i could make a half decent heatshield for my ibiza out of stainless or ally and it would cost me nothing but time. Ive order a jetex filter, next im gona work on gettin it closer to the hole in the wing, and then start working on the heatshield.
 
Don't bother with the heatshied, get some DIY intercooler piping and extend the air filter towards the wing, cold air will travel in the nearside of the bumper, at the front, and travel into the engine bay using the wheel arch liner to channel it. Even better if you can chuck your battery in the boot and you'll have plenty of cool air and space :)
