I just went to get an idea of what it could cost me.

What they came up with was on a £12,500 FR, solutions is apparently the best way. I could part-ex my car for £2000 and then it would be £240 a month over 3 1/2 years.

I was hoping on a finance contract with an end payment to get the monthly costs down but he said the ones they do don't do that?

He didn't actually run my details through for a proper check, so i'm guessing its not spot on. But how does it sound to what others have payed?

Suppose for that i'd need more hours at work to be comfortable paying it off though!

Judging by this link, Solutions is variable by how much you want to pay per month, deposit and the final payment. I've been in the process of looking at the Cupra or 1.2 TDI sport on finance deals, and plan on popping by the local tomorrow to see what we can negotiate ;) - would love the FR too, but with my age and the insurance, sadly it isn't an option :(

Edit: Can't post links until I've made more than 15posts, but if you gonto the Seat website, then finance and download the finance brochure all the details are there.

(Fantastic forum btw, been very helpful in me choosing which model to go for!)o

I'm only 22, quotes for the cupra and fr ain't too bad.

Its quite a difference between the cupra and a 1.2 TDI though lol. Also you say your looking at the cupra but fr would be too much, the fr is less powerful than the cupra! :D

Haha I know the FR is less powerful, it's more that the FR comes in 5dr unlike the Cupra or Boc.

Insurance is more an issue for me though since I'm only 18 and haven't got a no claims, yet. 10months and counting :p

Shocking kids can buy brand new cars..

Is that to go with ur uni £40k?

How things change might buy the missus a ibiza

It was 18th B'day present, have to pay for all the running costs though, that's why insurance and everything is a concern.

Thats strange they said they couldn't do the finance with the lump sum at the end. I got that with my Sport, 3 years and a certain amount at the end of it or trade the car back in for a brand new car.

Your finance seems quite high, but that might be because theres no amount at the end. My car in total was around £13,000 and i pay £224 a month.

Sounds odd to me, depends what others say and their view.

Unless the car was a pre reg, or second hand....

I've just (March 30th) done this with Seat - so they can do it....

Mine was a new car, 1.2 DSG TSi SC Sport, in White, with Climate and 17" wheels.
Got it for £13,100, minus £2000 deposit for old car, and I got mine on the PCP at £221/month over 3 years, and £33/month over 3 years for service, maintenance and tyres package.

Odd thing here is the finance plus your part ex doesnt equal the price of the car :/ so its either a 0% APR jobby which is nice or you have a rediculously small lump sum.

Ipayed maximum deposite for mine, Car was 14k and i pay 161 a month with a 6k lump sum at the end i think thats about right.

You're allowed to pay off part of it through the finance though made sure of that, as my work will pay out a lump sum for me to move sites soon which will cover the final payment nicely.

I'm 22 and just bought myself a brand new Cupra yesterday
Will have the keys by end of April :D

Really do not see the point in an end lump sum, all ur doing is leasing the car and if you dont pay the end lump you have to re-lease another car. Fair enuff if you got the money to buy a new car every 3 years but but i just dont see an upside in keeping payments down if you wanna keep it.

Think i pay £500 a month for my boc with a 4k deposit and my insurance is just over £1500 a year. Im 22 now but atleast its my car after these 3 years and if i decide to sell it its probs worth alot more then garuenteed value.

36M x £500 +£4000 = £22000?! Wow. That's a lot for a car you could have paid £15k for.

The PCP concept is interesting though, as you don't have to settle for GFV, just pay that for it. However, I doubt they will be worth much more than that on average miles.

Got alot of extras but yea your right its not cheap. but i plan on keeping it. Few more k i could be in an focus rs! ****.

My apr is somthing like 8% i think cant help that i did try bank loan. I think its just under 22k final price.

I think that'll be the difference... in 3 yrs your extras will be worth £0 so it's dead money to start with. All it means is one person might buy it over another.

At least with a focus your base price would have been higher to start with.

A £15000 loan over 3 years will cost you £1500 or so in credit, so paying back £16500.
