After debating whether my '03 LC was worth spending money on exhaust and suspension with it having 105k miles on the clock I have decided that YES it is. Problem is I have also decided that having recently done the brakes if I get an exhaust (and suspension) then I am only a couple of mods away from being able to get Stage 2 Revo.

What difference would I notice from Stage 1 to Stage 2. I know it won't be as big and noticeable a difference as when I first got the Stage 1 but what can I expect? What would be an 'average' BHP for Stage 2?

Revo also no longer mention an FMIC on their Stage 2 information. Is it still required or recommended? If so I have seen a lot of talk about the Toyo FMIC but I understand you have to lose your fogs if you use this kit. Is there a way to do it without losing the fogs or an alternative to the Toyo but still a saving over the Forge kit or another way of getting the desired results?

Cheers.

Really no more HP but it will enhance your mods and you will have better performance

but most important your CEL light usually does not come on for emissions sensors/ O2

which is common when getting a dow pipe.....

im going for a stage2 remap in 3weeks hopfully. ive got FMI/Jetex Cone/Forge007/TIP/Stage1 remap and im getting a Dcat on thursday and then having stage2. Ive been told allot people with my Mods and stage2 map run around 270-285bhp and im running around 260 atm

I've only got an LC so I won't get anywhere near that.

With stage 1 I'm guessing I'd be running about 210ish. If the quoted 15% is of what it's currently running then I'd be looking at 240ish. Does that sound about right?

Would a FMIC be required then as it doesn't list it on th Revo site as a requirement, although I know it used to.

my readers ride thread is for you, albiet it needs updating

my car made 197bhp with stage 2 mods and STANDARD map

and then it made 227bhp with Stage 2 map

I had a Stage 1 map with Stage 2 mods, I removed to map and mapped it to standard before getting it professionally mapped to stage 2, well worth it i'd say

No more HP?

Is it the mods that give it the extra then and the map just tweaks everything to adapt it?

this pretty much sums it up "it is the mods that give it the extra by going stage two with revo

it sees the changes and rethinks/rearranges to get the most efficent (SP) horse & torque

APR tuning is a generic tuning where as you add it adapts to what ever you mod APR stage 2 enhances it some but unless drastic changes have been done it really does not add HP....

Had APR on the barbiiee doll

unless you plan to keep the car for quite a few more years and upgrading the turbo?? i'd say no its not worth going stage 2!!! the difference isnt worth the cost imo!!

stage2 map's are only around £50 tho for the upgrade from stage1 ;) there must be a reason so many people upgrade to it.

really £50?? are stage 2 maps generic now then? cause when i had my my stage 2 map it was custom mapped by will at p-torque and he had it for nearly a day and i thought i had a bargain at £250!

I will be keeping the car. It's on 105k and won't be worth much to sell on plus I can't afford to buy another car anyway so I thought I may as well invest what little cash I do/will have on making the next few years (hopefully) as enjoyable as possible.

I am gonna need an exhaust soon anyway because my brackets keep snapping off with rust and I've been told they won't weld if they go again. Nothing left to weld to. Although the system itself seem fine. Still original one too! Had to do brakes last week. Went for EBC Ultimax and DS2500's up front and plain discs with Bosch pads at rear, Motul RBF600 fluid and Goodridge hoses. All I will need on top is the 4bar FPR and a FMIC and I'm Stage 2 ready.

Just trying to suss out if the Toyo FMIC is worth the saving over the Forge set-up. Big issue is I don't want to lose my fogs!

Not sure ... but went to my local REVO dealer last week where i had my stage1 map last year and he said its like £40 + VAT for the stage2 upgrade =)

A custom or stage 2 map with bigger dp and cat will see around 240. youll get 10 bhp increase just by removing that restriction the rest comes from tweaking the map.

My map made the cars power last longer into the rev band but it was more progressive than revo.

Fmic wont give you anything but without it youll lose power after a while due to heatsoak.

if i'd of had the option years ago of saving £300 over the forge fmic i would have gladly sacrificed my fogs!!!!;)

I know what you're saying but it's not just the fogs issue. The Toyo also uses reducers to go from 64mm ports on the intercooler down to 57mm for the pipes. This is not good and causes pressure loss. 64mm right through would be fine.

Shame TX don't do a LC kit. Anyone got any other recommendations for an intercooler on the LC without any chopping, welding or loss of fogs etc.

i read that on here to, but im sure ive seen on here that the toyo ic does actually improve intake temps so the size difference's cant hinder it that much;)

also is it just the appearance of loosing your fogs that you are worried about??
