As said previously I am not prepared to give the ibsurance company £14,000 for a years insurance which is why i didnt get one of these cars even if i had that sort of money, and again as i said earlier im after an evo 9 so lookibg to get this next year when insuramce drops for £14,000 a year to £2,000 a year. Until then LCR it is.

I wouldnt be seen dead in a punto! I got a turbo car cos i wanted a dv, and out of all the turbo cars i can afford to insure LCR is the nicest so why :ban: ? Not a bad decision at all.

Not a bad decision at all but buying a car simply for a dump valve is ridiculous IMO of course, i brought an LCR Because they are one of the best looking hot hatches, comfortable, strong engine, and my names leon lol
 
Jeepers give the guy a break, if thats his thing let him do it,( i draw the line at cherrybombs! and drive it like your stole it visors!).Mine did woossh loudly on my old OEM k04, i never set out to have it like this, it was just a by product of other stuff.

You can hear it clearly at the start of this run and this was over a very loud fan.

N249 + Open cone + no bonnet lining = woosh, also found the DV relocation made it louder too.Personally not a fan of reversed DV, but if you like it the go for it, just don't offer me a lift anywhere, LOL.
 
Gotta agree with robbie ben if that's why you bought you LCR then fair play

I personally got mt LC coz I wanted a turbo car and wanted a DV! I live the sound I hit the leon coz Ive always loved the car love it look it's stance and it's big fat a$$ ;) lol I bet there's a leon owner out there that bought his coz it's faster than his mates saxo! We all have our cars for reasons we choose obviously Ben likes the leons as he had a 1.6 witch he turned into an LCR rep up until about a month ago :) (must say was a good looking car to)

So bored of my "whoosh psst" upon acceleration & lift off but like Robbie says, byproduct of other things/better performance. I personally can't see that an airbox will give me the same level of airflow so it'll stay as an open cone.
 
I have open cone filter, reverse 007 and removed the bonnet lining. You can hear it, but its not exactly what i would call loud.

But then im used to Jap cars, and they are LOUD! lol

hi guys im new to the seat leon 20vt 180bhp version and upon reading threads in regards to mods on these cars i had a look and i noticed i have a forge 007p dump valve. (at least it looks like 1) and it looks as if its a red spring inside the dv. and im sure its supposed to be yellow. the car is sold as standard and it looks it and seems to perform standard and not re-mapped. and after looking around a red spring is the stiffest. so can this be hindering my cars performance or cause and damage to the turbo? i can hear it woosh and dump in a tss tss tss kinda way. (hard to explain a dump sound lol)

also on the subject will a KnN typhoon complete cold air intake kit gain the stated 10bhp (estimated) on the KnN website or will it need a re-map aswell to make use of the KnN ccai
retailed at £260 it should be as good as they say.
 
go for a JR Jetex open cone from Bill @ Badger 5 on here' in my opinion, alot cheaper too, you should have the yellow spring, if getting it mapped just go and get a green spring
 
Dont waste your money on the K&N, get a Jetex as already said will give the same results just your not paying for some fancy plastics.

does the jetex have a noticable performance increase then? because KnN state you will gain around 10bhp if the jetex gains the same results at a cheaper price then im sold. im not bothered how it looks. im interested in the sound and performance not the nice colour coded engine bay ill never see behind the wheel.
 
doesnt it pull the most G's out of the lot, it also transforms the 007p, they paired fantasticly' ive got the jabbasport heatshield too which is one of the best things ive bought, very well put together and does its job excellent
