Not a GT30, but it is a long term plan and more useable 350 region
Do elaborate please buddy?
I'm off round europe with 2 mates for 4 months, we're going to get a van in the next 2 months so need cashish! Then plenty of beer tickets.
I find I'm falling in and out of love with the car on a weekly basis, lol. Must be how you feel too. Sometimes you look at them and think 'spot on', then other times they look miles away from where you want them.![]()
You've got a good plan of attack especially the diff, just don't think about how much the car owes you at the end of itlol.
Nice mate! Enjoy
I think lowering made me fall for the car more than ever. I went out in DK's this morning (pics in his thread I took) and it's transformed his car and he can't stop grinning now!
These are cars which will p*** you off with the small annoying stuff, but which will reward you for very well for the effort put in..
Cheers bud, diff will be a long way off yet but I think ideally I'd like one on there before it hits Brands' early next year.
Diff, rods which you don't need atm, but do them anyway then GT28 or GT30 it![]()
Diff will be done, all in good time.. Money biggest factor really as I'm finishing this and saving for a house at the same time. I can't throw all my pay at the car each month as much as it would be nice to. Rods not going to bother with for the short term.
Won't be going big turbo Brad, far too much time and money. Near 300bhp is enough through the front wheels on these in my opinion. More than enough fun.
Next big power upgrade will be when I buy another car.
I am due to Forge on the 16th so fingers crossed that comes through. If it doesnt I have other options
They are also going to develop turbo intake pipe also so not just intercooler.
Nice one I'll keep an eye on your thread then matey. Hope it goes well.
Good to see they're developing more than just the cooler for the TDI. They shouldn't forget you guys!
Hi Tom,
I'm glad that you have seen the light and have a nice plan for the coming year. I'm with you at the moment what with the problems I've had with my car, I've just discovered three boost leaks to add onto the overboost problem. I really regret sticking all these mods on my car gradually rather than just saving up and doing it in one hit, then take for mapping. My ECU must be spazzing out big time, it can't control what is going on (all the extra power potential) with its current map. So, it's been a few weeks now that I haven't been able to drive it properly, she's become an' about town car' for the time being.
Still on the up side I have just secured myself a Forge Big Race Cooler kit, Forge turbo outlet pipe, Forge DV relocation kit, Forge TIP & Forge Split-R bundle for an amazing price which should all be here next week. The hoses are all in red which upsets my stealth engine bay theme so expect to see all but the outlet pipe & cooler on ebay lol.
Hi Jay,
Sorry to hear the car still isn't running right.. I'm in the same boat really but due to a couple of fault codes which need sorting. Lambda 1 and Knock Sensor 2 faults don't seem to be going away after clearing each time they come back pretty soonish.
Where did you get all that kit from?! Nice purchase. I was going to say you don't need some of it like the TIP etc. Is it all new? Looking forward to seeing the big race cooler on the car. Where abouts are your boost leaks?
I think once the fmic is on, boost leaks fixed and apply a stage 2 code you'll be running alot sweeter then!
