Nice car but I wouldn't pay the price for it even though it's a special edition. I went and had a look at the DS3 THP which was a really nice car but was put off by the worry it would lose a massive amount over three years (more than an Ibiza or a Fabia).

Saying that the drivers position was good, leather was nice but rear seat passengers wouldn't stand much of a chance

Same can be said for the SC ibiza too mate, rear space is not much as I am rellatively tall, not like you though, but yeah. I sat in a normal DS3 and then the DS3 R and the seating possition in the R is much lower and better. I have to agree though, the DS3 R looks good but realistically I wouldn't spend that kinda cash on one. Rather wait a few years before some owner gets tired oh his and then buy one hahahahahhahahha. besides, I still love the look of the ibiza too much and the new 1.6T engine mated to the DSG will be far more superior imho.

So what are your thoughts after seeing it on Top Gear?

I think perhaps its a bit too much, one of the main reasons I was attracted to the cupra was due to how subtle it is, in comparison with other hot hatch's

however it is a very nice car, just couldnt justify spending that kind of money for exclusivity,

what do you think jc?

Tbh ... I thought it was poor effort by TG... not even really a review. I agree though, that I think the DS3 R is a bit too much in your face ... but I think it looks like it could be a cracking drive. RS Clio was made to look poor I thought.

Sure, by the time you spec up a new Ibiza Cupra / Boc, you are into the 20k+ category ... which is fookin ridiculous if you ask me. Tell ya what, if I am spending that sort of money I will be having a good look about me first.

I LOVE that car! There is one that lives a few streets away from me and when I was supervising my son before he passed his test we drove past it and I did a double take! I just love the wheels! Not so sure of the inside though having seen it on TG tonight. I have also seen it in Sainsbury's car park too and then another time it drove past us down the High Street, and both times I was like 'OMG!! Look a those wheels!' They look amazing when they are turning at low speeds. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a car though - I could've had two Ibizas for that, lol!

the ds4 does look lovely, i still wouldn't buy a citroen....

watched top gear and it was hard to choose, the clio is definatly the best handling of the 3 but i think the 2.0 engine makes it non viable as a choice (thirsty & tax), in 1/2 years when it should get a 1.6t engine it could be an even greater car. as jc said though the new ibiza with a 1.6t and dsg would be amazing!!

all said, in a couple of years i seriously fancy an audi :)

Have to agree. I am looking at 1 year old Rocco fully macced out. Or a new one for that money with less kit. 2 year old Focus RS at my local Ford dealer for that money, or finally an Abarth Punto Esse Esse is cheaper, less street cred though :D

test drove one of these and it was very very fun to be fair, handled well too IMO, and the start/stop was quite cool as it sounded amazing when firing back up

i could go with a bigger engined car but then every thing else goes up along with it and I don't earn big money so need to be carefull with engine sizes etc.
