i am interested in this as i am about to put an 1.9tdi into a t4 van and the ahu/ 1z engine fit in easily so saying buying a different engine is completely useless information! lol
FMIC is not needed for those power levels. You could go for
.205 (asv injectors) or .216

Changing turbos is a pain. On the agr engine, the standard turbo is a wastegated version, whereas turbos from 110/130/150bhp engines are vnt, so you have to transfer all the vacuum lines too.

Thats more like it mate cheers. do you kno how hard the injectors are to change? i kno on the pd130 its a right pain in the back side.

It's all apiece of piss and the only thing that gets in the way is lack of dosh, if you have the money you can make it go like **** . With a vnt 15 from the likes of the ALH and some bigger nozzles and tune you're looking at around 150bhp, with a vnt 17 of some sort you're closer to 170 which I think is probably about the limit of the AHU internals. Still a respectable amount of poke though. Good place for more info

I am happy with anything over 110 + usig the 1z or ahu engines!
As for the front mount I already have one on the van from a merc sprinter as the abl engines in the t4 don't have anything to cool the intake temps! Pretty shocking really!

They're really easy but best to get them setup by someone so they're all balanced, you could always try getting a set that are already fitted and balanced. Mine have taken me up around the 110-115 mark but you could probably get that from a tune, I just wanted to make a start towards getting more so the injectors were my first stage.
Let me kno if you thinking of parting with your old ones if you upgrading! Not bought the engine yet, just getting all the info n parts ready for my winter project!

totally agree, bigger turbo, bigger injectors, FMIC, remap. TDi club has endless amounts of information when it comes to this. I also want to do the same thing, it's just finding time and money!
