Please help!!

First off im sorry to be such a burden on this forum guys but I have to get this sorted.
I love my toledo and want to get this fixed for the MOT and keep her.

Sooo,the probelm is my rear passenger door wont open, (so im working from the inside)

I have got the door panel off via the door screws in handle and pulling all clips out.
I have disconnected the ancillaries carrier and can see the door lock mechanism.

I have been told the best way to get it out and get the door open is to break the whole unit out with a hammer and chisel or bolt cutters. Im going try this tomorrow with my brother.so i hope i can break old lock out and get the door open and then installing new door lock and re fitting door cards should be easy.

so has anyone done this or got any tips for me?

I'd work inwards to where the screws are to hold the unit on. Maybe try drilling rather than cutting or bashing

I'd perhaps suggest trying to crack the case open rather than off? It's a plastic case, and if you can get to the latch mechanism and manually operate the latch (including releasing the deadlock) you might be able to get the door open without too much grunt work?

Also, have you got a replacement door lock yet? It might be worth you opening it up and understanding how it works, I seem to remember there was a single latch that will release the door, and the deadlock winds into place to lock the latch solid. So you unwind the deadlock, then release the latch?

I think I'm really oversimplifying things (and I'm remembering the lock from when it was on my bench rather than still in the car!) but it might help.

Try disconnecting the battery for a while before reconnecting it and trying the central locking with the key in the door.

Try tapping the lock mech (often lock issues are caused by dry solder joints)while opening / closing the door with the remote

That's sounds great slimy, going try that first.
Then it that doesn't work I cud try cycling the locks while hitting with something

Ok guys got the lock out!!

I just kept cycling the locks while tapping the lock with pliers inside the door.

Spoooo, does anyone know the prices of both :

A passenger rear door lock and
A passenger rear window regulator kit (without motor)

I got a price for my front drivers door locking mechanism and that was around £90 depending on VIN number.
