Hello, It's been a long time since I've posted on here. I sold my LCR a couple of years ago now..

Anyway, I'd like to get another one. I've seen one for sale that needs a new turbo..

Can anyone advise me on how much I'd be looking at to do this please?

Many thanks.

New turbo, maybe 300 - 400 quid, or you could possibly get the existing one sent away and reconditioned for a bit less. Getting it changed will cost a bit unless you can do it yourself. If it needs a new turbo then you'd be daft not to have the oil feed and (possibly) return lines for it changed too, also have the sump dropped and cleaned out. I ended up paying about £900 for the parts and labour involved in all of that, on top of the cost of the new turbo.

TBH I'd walk away, there are bound to be better examples out there, god knows what else is wrong with this one.

Nevermind, it was advertised at £995, 2003 plate LCR...what a bargain eh?...

Real price £2750 Grrrrrrr.

Seen that, bloke put low price to get it at top of list. For a grand It's worth it, other wise do one. Turbos are about 600 new

Too good to be true. So the £2750 plus say 1400 for a new turbo and fitting, there have been a few LCRs on the For Sale section here for around that kind of money that have probably perfectly healthy turbos. Keep looking, the right one won't be far away :)

Last time I bought a genuine K04-23 which was about a year ago it was around £700, I must dig out the invoice.better off getting a second hand one and get it reconditioned, make sure there is a very thorough inspection of the manifold for cracks as it can be changed at the same time if needs be.

Sorry, when I said new turbo was 300 or 400 I was talking about a pre-reconditioned one from the likes of CR Turbos or Turbo Dynamics, as Robbie says a genuine, brand new one will be a lot more.
