Cupra Fuel Consumption (1 full tanks unscientific results inside)

So ive got a remapped Cupra running on 99Ron Tesco juice.

I filled up on the 9th April and my fuel light came on last night.(35miles to empty, this has been stretched more than that before lol) I've been keeping tabs on what my trip consumpstion has been and noting it down. This month the Cupra has hit over 70mph once but generally it has spent 99% of its time going to and from work (only 2 miles so never warms up really) and to and from gfs, resturants ect. All city driving. Some time waiting in traffic ect. I didnt drive uber eco, I just didnt use the go pedal much(some days I did as you will see in the mpgs aha). Over 7500miles the overall average is 34.5mpg. This tanks mpg was 35.31mpg(added all the mpg's up, divided by how many). I have done 312miles so far. Cost me £57.79 to fill up and it was about 139.9p if any one wants to do some more accurate calculations lol Didnt vent the tank, just filled until it clicked.

So for those of you that want to know how a cupra is on fuel, in the city, it isnt bad. My 1.6l N/A 2010 fiesta was worse than this!

Very good. I get best mpg on a motorway drive around 55mph. My large decat downpipe has increased mpg from 43 to 46mpg. Think if you did longer drives on a roads ud be over 40

Oh definitely on a run its brilliant if you stick to a nice 60/70 ect. Even cruising at *high* speeds going to silverstone and back and generally driving like my car was on fire I did there plus an hour to bnb And back to Leeds on a tank. About 350 miles but pedal to the carpet lol

Good results there bud.

On the run to Scotland the Skud managed 420 miles to the tank which I was pretty pleased with . The 1.4 TSI can be economical when driven sensibly.

I can't believe you did all those trips on one tank, For me a tank is 2 or maybe 3 trips as I tend to do 100-150miles plus each way each trip. I would be gutted to only get 34mpg, 54 would be normal and 60 would be a good one. I reckon if I hoofed it at 100mph plus for a tank I would still get more than 34. But then I only have a CR170 with a little magic box.

No offense nath but You might want to read the original post. To and from work 5 days a week, 2 or so miles. Lots And lots of small/medium journeys. Going to friends houses, going out to friends, dinner, shops. I wouldn't say its bad at all for 100% urban driving in petrol car with over 200 brake.

Jabbasport did the map for me. I was the guinea pig so to speak so didnt cost me anything but the petrol to go down and to be without my car for a week. Nice guys always had time for me ect to discuss my worries/thoughts. I requested they did a low torque map and as my sig shows they kept the torque low but maintained it right across very high into the rev range. Its been increased a bit now. I think its great

Jabbasport did the map for me. I was the guinea pig so to speak so didnt cost me anything but the petrol to go down and to be without my car for a week. Nice guys always had time for me ect to discuss my worries/thoughts. It'll be interesting to see how much the acceleration has increased.

Fingers crossed I can get abit of discount from them as at work my MD was the guy thats setup Eibach UK and was MD there for 10 years and our Business Development manager was Technical Director there for over 10 years and in the past they've done the hundreds of suspension setups for tuning companies including Jabbasport.

+ I've only got about 8 months left on Seat warrenty so soon there will be nothing left to void with one

lol! Well I went to fill up again the other day is was 141.9. Though I drove by an asda and most of the normal petrol is about 137/9 at this asda its 134.7- I was tempted!

Yeah its not too far, going down is easy in the cupra. Comming back if you get the sloda thats just painful! But the second time I went down I did get a VW Passat. That was nice cruiser.

Well Ive got Torque Pro, its a app on the phone that connects to the cars OBD port, I'd say its pretty accurate. Standard it ran 6.4s to 60mph and ive only done two timed attemps when I first had the car mapped, first was 6.0s and the next was a 5.6s 60mph Im thinking 5.5 if you can get the start right/good grip ect.
In fairness, its the fact it wont slow down even after triple figures now and that I can use alot more of the rev range. 7200rpm in standard is a bit of a waste of time as all the puff is gone by about 6000rpm+

Nailing it in gear the power just surges more and more and more. Its good fun. Wasted a Leon FR+ (they got 211ps dont they?) yesterday even giving him a lil head start. But then, I would, I have the same power, less weight, and a DSG.

I cant beat the book times on 0-60 on torque. May have another go when conditions are perfect. yours are Cracking times !! Will embarras very many cars.

My only other "race" is with a mates 225megane from 30mph (so the "dsg effect" is somewhat limted) and it stayed nose to nose I'd gain when he changed gear and he would slowly crawl back edging infront, then change again, id be infront up to 100l and we had to brake.

My times are on really nice flat, relativley new(circa 6years) roads. With TC on I think. Mines got battery in boot, These times were before taking the rear seats out but without spare tyre. You should defo beat hte book times- there made in lala land!
