lol look at you lot being this guys mother :handbags: even though i agree with what they are saying about getting a 1.2 then upgrading, i can also say that if this is what you really want to do and you feel that a 1.9tdi 130 bhp is better than a 1.2 62hp petrol (70hp if you can afford a facelift one like mine ;) ) then go for it, just be aware that like phil has already pointed out that the costs of running a higher bhp and diesel engine car are more expensive and need alot more taking car of, which i know for a fact that no young driver will do as most just want to get behind the wheel and drive and dont actually know about looking after the engine, but at the end of the day mate it is your choice in what car you get and no one can tell you differently :) hope this helps in your decesion

Hi Alex.
I am really into cars and love cleaning my Mum and Dads. It is without doubt that I would keep the car in as good a condition as possible, I'm all in for cleaning it twice a week!
I hear what you guys are saying,

Btw, just wanted to ask this. How the :censored: do insurance companies work?!? My dad was looking at possible cars for me and got a quote for a 1.9TDi Grand Punto. Same spec as the Ibiza 1.9sport - 130brake, top speed in high 120's yet to insure the punto in my own name with only my mum as a named driver, I got quoted £1600! (The ibiza with exactly the same info is 5k!)

Also parts are a bit more pricey in the vag scene. So if you crash it's more expensive to buy Ibiza parts than fiat.

Yea It's not the cleaning mate it's maintenance. You need to know a little about how things work before buying a diesel. They're not as clean as petrols so need a bit of TLC to keep running properly. :)

My 1.2 handles ****ing amazingly! Can out corner much better cars but i would like something else though it is worth mnore to me than anybody else so may as well just run into the ground.

Haha Matt done this on a thread with someone who wanted parts and made himself look one better so now he's doing it on mine. Thanks Matt very mature ;p :D

Yea my 1.2 was a good handler but for some reason this one isn't as good. Maybe cause I got kuhmos on the front?

How about the fact that it has a big heavy diesel lump at the front ;)
