Indeed I was on that thread Tim... He was a right lemon!
The clutch looks great and I'm sure it'll do the job nicely!
As for the exhaust it sounds lovely that. If it's too loud then tone it down but it sounds sweet IMO. Good work on fitting too that's a good job done too.
OK guys - quick update, unfortunatley I have been having a cylinder 3 misfire. CHanged coil pack and spark plug and its still not working.
Towed it to my local VAG specialist and its running 10psi not good! They also detected gas in the coolant system so thats either a head gasket gone or something worse.
I have eventually found someone local and cheap who has stripped off the head and this is what was found:
Valve has a hole in it! Melted through / something gone through it. So new valves needed for me! Then get the head sorted etc.. Now I am debating on whether to go for forged internals or whether to just wait and do that another time.
Ok so my mate has replaced the valves and cleaned the head, got it pressure tested skimmed etc.. ready to fit (can you tell what ones are the new valves...)
I only needed the 1 replaced but after closer inspection of all the valves he suggested that I get both done. Second to that he thinks that I have been unlucky and lucky at the same time - unlucky its happened, but lucky as he cant see much other damage.
Here is the valve:
Done some real damage to it! Car is all sorted now so driving it lightly for a while. Got it logged /scanned using Vagcom and the only fault code was the exhaust sensor so thats been sorted now. Next on the list is a FMIC and once my large commission lands ill be getting the forged rods for piece of mind
