It would b inteeresting if it is. As far as I am awar this nw eengin will fature in th next A4 and th new beetle R line will gt it too. This was posted by INA on fb...

Auto Group showcases the next generation EA888 2.0T motor in the Beetle R-Line. We are excited as we predict this motor will become the dominate / tuner motor of choice in years to come.
Siemens/VDO plastic DBW throttle bodies? Nope! Bosch units are back!
Carbon build up? Nope! Secondary fuel injectors to keep those valves clean.
Turbofolds? Nope! Turbine housing direct to cylinder head! No longer the need to cast up expensive manifolds , simply cast turbine housings!

Add K04 turbo for close to 400bhp regardless of tuner. Better than the BWJ/CDL engine in the Cupra/Cupra R. The EA888 only uses the K03s rather than the K04 as standard but makes approx 30bhp more than the BWJ/CDL with the same turbo.

So if they were fitting these engines from 2009 onwards (FL?) that means the cupra and cupra r should have the same engine with a K04 or is it ONLY the FR that got this engine? Confused.com lol

VW / Seat / Skoda brand the TFSI (K04) on news cars as TSI while its actually just a TFSI.
TSI engines are only K03 based and they come on the GTI, FR, Octavia RS, TT etc.
Audi on the other hand, seems to still use TFSI for the same engine on their cars like the TTS / S3

There is no CDLA engine. Only CDL.

The final letter A denotes additional kit that goes with it. Cupra R has CDLA as does S3. Cupra has CDLD. Difference is the intercooler.

The EA888 engine probably wasn't designed for the K04 engine which would suggest it may be more likely to fail with the K04 turbo than the CDL.

The new S3 uses the K04 turbo on a similar EA888 design. It is likely that the MK3 Leon Cupra R would have the same engine.

Engine code is CDLA for the Cupra r so saying it does not exhaust is not correct :)

2.0TSI is better for tuning ive been told..it doesn't need a new fuel pump (i.e APR HPFP) to make the power etc

well a few issues seem to be on the 2.0 TSI are:
- High oil consumption - much higher than TFSI
- Engine oil cooler doesn't seem to work as effectively as in the TFSI, oil temps in the TSI go up very quick
