I've got a 62 reg Leon and when my Samsung connects to it only some of the numbers appear.
Anyone know the answer?
Thanks Ken

I don't know why this is. However can i just ask, can you use the voice command in yours? i've got a FL 2009 Cupra, and when i press the voice button on the steering wheel, just says that the phone book is empty.

Yet i can scroll through my phone book on the MFD display just fine and ring from there.

You've probably got a crossover between when it was a mute button and when it was voice command lol. I find this and I think its the phone, or because of Facebook on your phone. I had a Nokia n87 no problems and full phone book, now I have lumia with all its connectivity goodness it proper messes the phone book up and always tells me I have an updated phone book, not really fussed but wouldn't mind knowing how fix it

Ah interesting. I'm using an HTC Sensation. when i first connected the phone it all sync OK. Then i tried getting the Bluetooth streaming working, so i disconnected the BT unit under seat, re-connected, nothing's changed. So im at a bit of a loss really. As i say, the whole BT works perfectly apart from the voice command.

Ken, have you tried connecting another phone to it?

I can't believe you got a Samsung phone to work at all. Galaxy S3 hates mine, and disconnects and reconnects every 20 seconds.

Everything works ok...the phonebook syncs up....the voice command finds the numbers but it only puts about 40 numbers in the index..numbers spread all down the alphabet.....misses random numbers.

I had this with my S3.

I alwayss got the message saying 'SEAT bluetooth wants to access the phonebook, will you allow?'

when I pressed yes on the phone, it wouldn't load up my phonebook it was really frustrating.

after i checked the box 'dont ask again' it wemt ok & now connects everytime no issues

you need to 'store' the numbers in the cars system

Press the mic button

SAY: Store name

Voice says "The name please"

SAY THE NAME

Voice says "The number please"

SAY THE NUMBERS

SAY: STORE

the number should now be stored in the cars bluetooth system

then when its stored you press the mic button

SAY: DIAL NAME

Voice says "The Name please"

SAY THE NAME

the number is dialled linked to the name

Its all in the communication system handbook/manual

Yes I get the message to access my phonebook when it is first paired and access is granted by me.
That's not a bad idea to just put about ten most used numbers......I'll do it next time I'm sat in a car park waiting for our lass to look at everything in asda.......again.
My phone is just the Galaxy Ace.....all works perfectly except for the missing numbers.

on the message, there is a 'check box' which says "dont ask again"

check that box & then all your phonebook should load up automatically everytime your phone connects to the cars bluetooth.

storing the numbers as in my post above just means that when your phone is connected, you can use the voice commands to dial numbers/names

The car never "asks again"
As long as the bluetooth is active on my phone it syncs up automatically but with limited numbers....it just sits in my pocket.

not the car "asking again"

Your Phone, the Galaxy Ace "asking again" to give permission to access the phone book, every time it connects to the SEAT bluetooth.......

If the phone does, then on then message on the phone there is a check box to tap that says "dont ask again"

I had the same issue with my Galaxy S3:

i'd turn on bluetooth on my phone,

phone connects to car bluetooth

everytime i did so, the phone gave a 'chirp'

message on phone was 'SEAT BT wants access to your phonebook, give access?'

I tap yes on the phone screen

soing so, sometimes my phonebook would load up & appear on my MFD & sometimes it wouldn't sync my contacts

However, i noticed that in addition, on the phone message, there was a little 'tick box' on the on screen prompt, with "dont ask again" next to it

so i checked the box

since doing so, my phone no longer 'chirps' when it connects to the cars bluetooth and it automatically synced all the phonebook and it now loads up all my phone contacts & these appear on my MFD evertime with no issues

does that make sense?

Like I say ...I don't get that....I even deleted the phone from the cars system and re-paired it.
I will do it again tomorrow morning and see what happens.
Thanks for your help.....I'll probably need it again.

I have tried several brands of cell phones including BlackBerry, Apple, Samsung, HTC, and Nokia and they have all worked perfectly fine and the car got their phonebooks and everything. Some phones, especially those that use Android 4+ require you to grant SEAT_BT access to the phone book, logs, and such, but if it's not popping on your phone then something must be wrong with your phone as your BT unit seems to be working fine.
