i never found the steering to be a problem in mine to be fair. looks a nice car and think the facelift is now growing on me. i was maybe being a bit jealous haha and a bit more power can never be a bad thing either :)

I really don't get why they have gone so backwards in the design of it.

It just looks like a 1.2 poverty spec Ibiza with a line of holes under the grill. :/

Here's another review... I can't post a link yet but look at the reviews page on all the www
itsgotwheels dot com

perhaps a non newbie can paste the link in

Is the top speed of a standard car really 142mph? I only got 141* out of mine in 6th gear, should I have changed into 7th? I thought it was an overdrive gear. Magazines don't test top speed any more, they just quote makers figures. * Bruntingthorpe runway.

The steering is ok, until you turn a corner :p

I find the body roll quite terrifying tbh, just not got the heart to lower it to stop it lol

Let me know if you do decide to lower it and I'll quote you a good price for Springs mate, Jay and Lukeyy are currently running on our springs :)

Probably 142mph indicated. I've had mines past 140 a few times with ease before it was remapped.

7th is massively overdriven, pointless even considering using it.

Interesting that they realised the rear suspension was too harsh & changed it..... Shame they didn't do the same with the front steering.

I'd love to have another, but tbh, the Clio & Fiesta are more appealing in many ways - not least the pricing

Looks pretty mundane and boring TBH. :( ...... really poor show. Looks just like a normal Ibiza from the front now. Where as the early mk5's were aggressive.

Just shows that once upon a time the Cupra was their flagship model, now seems just like a trim level and a few tweaks now. :(

I can't see or feel any problem with the steering on mine (yes, its lowered as well)...and that is coming from someone who owned two RS Clios prior. Granted, there is very little in this class of car that can take a corner like the clio (you really should see the speed they can carry through a corner); but there is nowt wrong with the cupra steering imo. Journalist need to ensure that they write something positive and negative, and they probably all just end up on the same bandwagon anyway. Regardless of the car, you could guarantee they always start with the positive, followed by the negative.

Take Toyota GT86, for example, specifically design to be low weight, rev hungry, N/A engine, skinny tyres etc ... to bring the fun back into motoring. Journalists love it...but then go on to say that it needs more power. In order to get more, the car needs either a larger capacity engine, or the engine needs charged in some way...hence adding more weight...hence defeating the purpose of the original design. That's just journalists ... They need to write something they like / dislike IMO.

Incidentally, I dont see much overall difference between face-lift cupra and existing cupra (except obvious visual aesthetics to the front). Reading reviews, you would think the new car is night and day an improvement on the older model. Seems to me there is F.A. difference in reality... Slight suspension tweek and a remap?!? Is that it, am I missing something jaw-droppingly different??? That's the difference between previous 3 star review of the car and now a 4 star review??? Having said that, I quite like the visual appearance of the revised front end.

Not good having the low end radio from the Mii and no USB connection. Also not keen on the portable sat nav, should be a proper one integrated into the dash like the fabia.
