This is my first car in ages that has screws, self adhesive tape holds plates really well, just use a lot.

I've a square on the Supercopa, I love the look much better than normal.

Plus as mentioned, the cops CAN NOT take your plate just because you've had three warnings. I've been through this at great length, and in the history of the dvla its never happened. Just scaremongering. Even if the did (which they won't) they would have to issue an age related plate, not a q plate.

I'm hopin that when i take my current ones off and out my new one on, you wont see the screw holes in the bumper from the old rectangle plate lol

If u can see them, just take the sharp edges off, slap some filler in it, let it harden, rub it down, then vinyl over the top and that will hide any holes u might have.

im going to order a 9" x 3" with UK legal font, spacing and BS kite mark, dont think the square plates look tidy enough.

mates dad has run one this size on the front of his R33 skyline, fits in well over where old Jap plate went, and doesnt shield his intercooler

EDIT: I know this is still prob illegal, but ill take the chance with proper font and spacing and can argue the toss with a kite mark on it :D

Also might get some anti-tamper screws fitted (ones you can only tighten, not undo) as the local plod are doing it for FREE!!!! does that count as a tax rebate? lol

Why not remove the plate prior to order and measure the gap between the screws?

Kite mark shows it meets legal requirements iirc, without it a newish car might as well not have a plate (to a picky copper)

Nope I had a 11" x 8" square plate on my Leon and people said it would block the air. It never did.

Ive got a 12 x 3 and got stopped once but never changed it back over never been bothered since. I had the original plate in the car so if I thought I was going to get stopped I would put the original one in the window. Im sure you are allowed to do that.

I might use some of that industrial Velcro. It's REALLY strong and if I keep a standard one in there too I can just swap it really quick

You are legal having a square at the front the police can't do a thing.

And the window thing, that's illegal.

How small my plate is I can deffo say its illegal its so small its off the motorbike and it was illegal then. If its illegal to have them in the window how do trade plate drivers get away with it, its something I see all the time.

Trade plates r something completely different, they r a temporary plate that is registered just to the driver. Hence they can b moved from car to car as and when they are required to drive them.

Ok, if your plate is a motorbike size then that's different. As above trade plates are different and not number plates. It is illegal not to have a number plate ON your car and clearly visible.
