You'll get pulled for that. Front number plates ruin cars. Shame we have to have them at all

We should be like the USA where rear ones are compulsory but front is optional. Fronts may be the law in some states but I know cars in Florida only have rears :)

Thats my plate.

I have no idea why people put square plates on their cars, it looks AWFUL! Square plates are for motorbikes, and Jap imports, not Seats!

Never been pulled as its only a little bit smaller. But small enough to not look stupid, and small enough to be noticeably better.

I cant remember the sizing exactly as its been on 6 months, but i removed the standard plate, measured the plastic bit behind so i could make it just big enough to cover it all up.

Will be getting a set of pressed ones soon hopefully at Ultimate Dubs if they are sold there
Try pressedplates.co.uk im thinking about ordering a set once i get a personal reg but unsure of what pressed style

For personal reg im also a bit stuck on what digits to use, name is josh obrien so i was getting Jxx OBR

Unsure which looks best if anybody wants to give an input, im thinking J12 OBR, and before anybody asks none of the digits available have any significance ie d.o.b etc

J12 OBR
J50 OBR
J55 OBR
J70 OBR
J77 OBR
J90 OBR
J99 OBR

motorbike plate = illegal, MOT fail and therefore 3 points if the copper who pulls you over is a pr*ck.

you can make your plate smaller with a hacksaw though, as all you need is 11mm around the edges, like Jarre's above.

my mx5's plate is offset to the far right and a small square

L511
WGC

about 15cm tall and 18cm wide and its completely legal. of course that's thanks to the 1s

would put a piccie but not allowed yet... :wtf:

Not sure it would look good on my Cupra R tho, i like Jarre's

Also, wouldn't go square as it'll also effect the air into the intercooler!

Josh, i would go J77OBR, or your DOB year if they have it.

Nope I had a 11" x 8" square plate on my Leon and people said it would block the air. It never did.

What proof do you have of this?

I logged a car with the ugly square plate then did the same car with the normal plate and inlet temperatures are definitely affected with an obstruction (square plate) in front of the intercooler.

Ps for what it's worth I have a 4 digit plate that's trimmed to just beyond legal minimums, has the BS stamp and postcode as per legal requirements. Smaller plates on the front look way better on the front of these cars in my opinion.

I also carry the legal spec in the glove box in case I ever get pulled and theybtrybto be funny. Had one cop clean the rear plate once to make sure I has the bs mark and postcode

Got the square number plate and the number plate tape from Halfords. All ready to go, jus need a warm dry day to wash the car and stick it on now lol. Any suggestions as the best way to do this?

The way the number plate is going to stick to the bumper, only the top half will be touching the bumper, is this enough to hold it on securley with number plate tape?
