Hello, so after a 5hour train journey to test drive the car and a 5hour drive home, here it is :)

2005 on a 55plate, currently at 74k (proven) miles.

Good points
- It's silver
- It has all the receipts from 2006 and all previous MOTs
- Mechanically running sweet as nut for now.

Points that show its age
- bit of rust developing at the top of drivers front wheel arch
- dings on passenger door, and scrapes on the bonnet
- marks on the silver parts of the seat fabric ( I believe will come out with a deep clean)

Points which require attention
- 3brands of tyre on the car, picky I know. Wheels are in good condition tho.
- I have the indicator relay with a mind of its own. (Relay contact cleaner ordered)
- g179 error, nicely illuminating my airbag light for now.

Things I won't jump into yet but will end up modifying ;)
- LED 501s and festoons (ordered)
- Aero wipers (ordered)
- Rear window tints
- gloss black the wheels or some BBS replacements
- Black roof and mirror wrap
- Awesome Gti £150 remap, the lowest power / torque one available. ( I've been there done that and wore the t-shirts for slipping clutches etc, I'm not interested in going hybrid)
- Awesome Gti cruise control
- mufflerectomy
- maybe some form of seat swap as long as there's no crazy wire cutting and soldering if possible, Golf R32's or Audi S3 kinda thing
- IPhone compatable head unit
- Rear ARB

Cheers if anyone took the time to read through to here, opinions and personal experiences are all welcomed.

Word of warning the awesome gti map is as harsh as anything! And will require an uprated clutch!

Im running a de-tuned awesome gti map and it still made this

Which is still high! Standard clutch can't really take anymore than 300lb/ft torque

Lovely example there mate! And low mileage too - very hard to find nowadays. 5 hr train journey! def worth it tho

i would strongly recommend changing the DMF at same time as clutch. They can develop a rattle and will need replacing eventually, so might as well do it at same time (will save on labour costs in long term) - of course not all do, but its worth considering
And as jasc says the standard clutch will be like butter after a short period with a remap, so def worth looking at uprated clutch kits - most tend to go for Sachs

With regards to the alloys, i think the 18" LCR alloys look superb. I think its the only car where i think the stock alloys look better than any aftermarket ones, but thats just my opinion. Check out ebay for a decent set of used 18" LCR alloys - most will prob need a ferfurb, but is def worth it. They really transform the look of the FR+ tdi's

I'm the same, just got a set of lcr 18s off m20fes for mine. I toyed with 3sdm but they're too expensive after what the cars cost lately! Mine isn't an fr+ but its the same colour with the same sort of mileage!
